Good diet and sensitvity to food

I realise how we have to be careful on diet and foods.  Last night we were up all but 1 hour because I had ignored Asher taking a quiche from the fridge which he had bought yesturday in Tesco in the reduced section.

Within the hour he was really unwell so it has to be the quiche but I think with the medication and redcued food intake alongside the reduction in fruit and veg the build up of constipation meant that the poor bloke was begging for mercy.

Throughout the four years of major ops  he has...

I will continue to be bubbly

Another week gone by and so much seems to be going on.  Why can there not be week of calm?

Yesterday was the funeral of a friend of mine who killed himself before Christmas.  I know it sounds daft, but it made me think about my Grandad.

My gran has decided to go and live with her eldest son down in Cornwall, which is definately a good thing for her, but it makes me sad, like I'm losing her in a way as I won't see her much.  I'd never tell her that of course, I just want her to  be happy...

    Making the adjustment
Hello all thanks for welcoming me into the community. I didn’t realise that there could me so many of us in one place! With my limited knowledge I’ve found it easy to find my way around, well done techies. I was shocked how quickly I have been able to meet other patients of my age with CLL; we appear to be quite thin on the ground. Just exchanging information about symptoms we share that the haemo’s seem to dismiss within our age group, has taken away some of the fear that doubt creates. Sharing...

I WILL HAVE MY BUM BACK!!

Tomorrow is the day I have been waiting for these past 18 months. My stoma will be reversed and my journey with cancer will come to an end.

Hopefully that is true, no more statistics, no more probability theory just good clean honest living. Valuing the fact that I have been very fortunate.

I will be in hospital for upto 10 days depending on how well I recover.

I didn't think that I would be nervous not at all more to the contrary excited, but thats not true. I feel very nervous because...

    Claustrophobic

Had MRI today to see if cancer has spread before RC in late feb. Results next week. Glad thats over. I asked for a sedative before which I was given but it didnt work as I take anti depressants and they did warn me it may not work. 45 minutes of sheer panic, the noise didnt bother me just the narrowness of the tunnel. They did allow me to keep most of my head out which helped.  Im glad I stuck it to the end though, at least next week I will know that  after RC if Im going to be cancer free or not. Sorry...

My Mum's fight with the enemy

June 2010 was the day that changed my life as I have always known it forever when I heard the consultant say to my mum It's lung cancer. My mum was so brave and dignified in her manner and just said ok thats fine at least I know what I'm fighting. Personally I was in bits when I walked out of the consultants office I couldn't speak. Not the best thing I know for my Mum, I will always regret that I wasn't strong for her that day as she was the one putting on the brave face.

    Three...

    Wigs and eyebrows

As alot of my concerns have been about how I will look during chemo I decided to do something about it. Had semi permanent eyebrows done on Monday and tried some wigs yesterday, They were amazing and very natural looking, will decide on mine next Wednesday and will have it cut to suit my face shape. Also had Emotional Freedom Therapy which I found really helpful although I did cry, guess that is part of the process. Start my chemo at 11am tomorrow and now just want to get on with it, sooner I start...
