Well pop had is scan a week ago now and is still very anxiously waiting for the result as we all are. Hes still sleeping alot and my nan is making herself ill with worry over what he can manage to eat. Im in a whirlwind at the moment as im rushing down to their house, rushing to work and rushing home to look after my husband and 3yr old little girl. Everything seems so frantic and the only thing that seems to be going slow is the results and treatment. When im not at my nan and pops house hes on...
Hiya well yesterday i had my first round of chemo (epirubicin) and experianced scalp cooling.
Well just for once the hospital was running on time :-) there was a few tears because the nurse said my hickman line wasnt in the right place and was to far down.... then she didnt know if they could even use it as it had only been 48 hours since having it put in!!!
Anyway, i got set up on a drip the nurse then sprayed my hair with water and rubbed the conditioner in, we counted down to 3 and put the cap...
At Papworth yesterday late PM. I was the one trying to forget where I was taping away on an iPad in case anyone reading this was there also .... Two years to the day when I first collapsed, one year since I started back at work part time, and now nine months since I returned full time. Appointment was good, and the world is good. Thymoma still there but slowed right down. It'll be back with a vengeance some time but I bashed it once and I know my enemy well .... Thoracic Outpatients is hardly my...
Hi all
My husband treated me and mum for a night out last night to see a comedian at the theatre. Mum didnt want to go as she is such a homebody and it was raining!!!. Husband told her to get her glad rags on and curlers out and go and enjoy herself (think he wanted the house to himself !) and she did and what a wonderful time we had. I had tears running down my face my stomach hurt so much with laughing and just to see mum laughing as well it was such a wonderful time.
But tomorrow we get the...

They had known for 3 whole massive lonely months! ... I was'nt sad that they did'nt tell me sooner, only sad that they felt they should'nt, cause they did'nt want to spoil my birthday!! (like i'd have cared about my birthday), and also that i'm busy with our four little ones (aged 2, 5, 7 and 9 years), and there never seemed to be a "good time"..... Nothings been the same since, and if someone had said I'd be using word...
When life throws you lemons you make lemonade.... it's a crap saying but it's true. We are all on our own journey through life, when life throws a spanner in the works, be that cancer, a broken central heating system or a broken down car we just deal with it, I have had all three (and more) problems to deal with recently and still am dealing with them.
Friends have said they don't know how we manage to stay positive, they say they wouldn't be able to cope if put in to this situation,...
I thought of you with love today, but that is nothing new.
I thought about you yesterday, and days before that too.
I think of you in silence,I often speak your names.
All i have are memories, and your picture in a frame,
Your memory is my keepsake, with which I'll never part.
God has you in His keeping, I have you in my Heart.
Sorry I haven't been on for a while guys.......have been quite emotional.
Hope you are all ok. Lots of love to you all. x
Oh bless him- he has always been the one we humour, the one we pamper , the one we like to make smile. He has had some of the of worst news you could get. GBM grade 4- can't operate- have some chemo- they said- we'll keep you well as long as possible- they said- how long is that? No answer...So he accepts it- he smiles- he can't talk now- the tumour has taken that away. But in there somewhere is my brother, and I love him.
He may live 120 miles away- but we can sort that- with the help...
Tomorrow i will be going to meet my next set of nurses the ones that will be with me on the radiation step of my treatment i'm sure they will be as nice as the chemo nurses or the breast nurse who where with me at the start of the horrible trip . I have to say they all have been brilliant which does help.
I'm now quite nervous about the radiation side effects i was really lucky not to suffer to bad through the chemo and i just think with my good old scottish skin (blueish /white with freackles...
