Had scan results yesterday and good news! There are now less lymph nodes infected with cancer cells and those that are still there are shrinking.
My lovely consultant is very pleased with me and I will continue to take Capcitamine (or however you spell it!) for another 4 cycles and continuing on Herceptin. Not too many side effects, just very dry and sore hands and feet and the inevitable fatigue.
Feeling much more positive.
Fingers crossed the Chemo keeps working!
I set my notifications up to email if I got a response to my blog, not expecting anything at all. I was sitting in a meeting and my blackberry buzzed all over the place. I was amazed, not annoyed, just amazed.
Today has been a day of it, everyone has said lately that I've been quiet but apparently more so today!
I asked for time off for 2 days next week for a funeral (it's about 100 miles away) of a friend of mine and have been told no because of the project I'm working on. I can't remember...

I have just had my pre-op assessment for my stoma reversal on the 28th Jan, next friday.
All is well and I long for the day to come. It will be the end of my journey I hoped!
I came home to a very large envelope from my solicitor. It was statements from 2 specialist professors in the field of surgery and oncology. I already have one from a specialist radiographer.
I have started a complaint against my local PCT accusing them of neglect, dereliction of care and misdiagnosis.
The 3 professors...
Well I've been on this site for just over a week. I thought I would start this, because sometimes you just need to talk to yourself - I do it all the time!!
This page and chat room is amazing, everyone here is just so nice and I am amazed at how welcoming people are. It's so sad to see how many people are hurting from this disease as either a patient or a carer.
So, where do I start about me?

Hello everyone, I just wanted to pick your brains. My husband has follicular lymphoma and has just finished 2 year maintenance therapy of Rituxamab and had scans on Friday and results due Monday 24th. However after 3 years of dealing with this we (both of us) have come to the conclusion he is not dealing with this so can anybody recommend counsellors? Hello all
Sorry I haven't been around for a while. It's been beyond difficult here at times.
Since I last wrote, my husband has had another stent fitted as the first had slipped into the stomach, which made eating virtually impossible. He had 3 units of blood transfused on new years eve due to severe anaemia again. His levels were down to 8 and a healthy male of his age - 45 - should read between 14 and 18.
He has lost 2 and a half stones in weight since in recent months due to disease...
