Hi all
Just joined this site today, for some reason during my many, many trawls of the internet, I hadn't come across this site before.
I'm 43 and undergoing chemo for pancreatic cancer following a whipples in mid Feb. I suppose I'm like everyone else in that some days I feel positive, whereas on other days, I find my mind wandering to darker places...
Again, like everyone else I imagine, I find myself looking on websites hoping for some positive news but I always end up focusing on...

I had the night from hell last night, i had the most awful nightmares about this cancer i woke up trembling and sweating. I couldnt go back to sleep at all and was trying desparately not to wake my partner as he has so much to put up with. The results of my biopsy are due on Thursday and my imagination is running away with me! This has been my worst moment so far. I was sure I could hear my Mum calling my name, i lost her four years ago and today is her birthday.
I did manage to pull myself together...
i don't have cancer myself and i'm not too sure how this is meant to help, but its just all so unfair!
cancer has spent the last 3 years taking away the people I love dearly. First it was my great aunt she had throat cancer, she deteriorated quickly but held out for her birthday and passed away the following day she was 84. Then a year and a half ago lung cancer got hold of my handsome grandad at aged 78 he was one day taken away from us without us even getting the chance to get use...
I took my girl upto school today a normal morning for me i looked across the road and i swear i saw my dad. i nearly shouted for him then a car drove past and he was away. I am missing him so much i really want him to hug me and tell everything is going to be ok. You dont relise how much you miss something, you take for granted the stupid wee things like the hugs the laughs and the wee stares it breaks my heart to think my dad will never make me feel safe again. sorry for being a pest again but i...
How on earth do you carry on without your soul mate, I am finding it really difficult and am really not sure what to do, i know its early days, its four weeks on Wednesday, but i just can not imagine it will ever feel any better ever again.

unfortunatley my mom was rushed into hosptial 10 days ago her remaining kidney wasn't working properly, at one point she had no renal function at all. Its been such a worrying time at one point I really thought she wouldn't pull through.
She just went down ill so quickly we where even asked if we wanted her Resuscitate her, god that was such a shock, we couldn't answear because my brother was away and I didn't think it was far for us to make that d...
Felt a bit down today over my inability to eat ' normally ' - apart from my recent success in managing some bread with soup, I am still finding it quite difficult to move the food with my tongue. I realise that this may be largely due to the extensive surgery and radiation, but after almost three years I was hoping to be way further along. Maybe I am expecting too much - or do I have to come to terms with the fact that I may never eat ' normal ' food again and be grateful that at least I am...

Last words are hugely important I think. Its nice to know that he was thinking about me in his last few hours, however hard that is to comprehend.
Keeping it short because I have to focus on my revision for my last exam on Tuesday!
I increased David's steriods upto 6mg, he stayed awake the whole day and we had a wonderful time.
I borrowed my disabled sisters wheelchair so David didn't have to walk, though he still found it tiring watching the children running around.
My other sister and her husband came with us, and she drove which was great as I didn't have to concentrate on driving and wasn't so tired and could relax and enjoy the day.
I managed to get David on 3 rides, the Viking rapids where we get drenched...
