What a couple of months it has been.. with happy and sad memories.
On October 16th we were called to Birmingham to see my Grandad who had taken a turn for the worst. On 17th oct, my Grandad sadly passed away.
We then celebrated my brothers 21st birthday, I went away for a few days to get away from everything, which was much needed.
Awaiting my mothers CT scan results to see if she was okay to continue treatment, we celebrated my nans 80th birthday.
Then it was the funeral and in the same week...
Still on Anatrozone , been on it 16 months. My onc has temp stopped the Arimidex injections to see if i have now entered a natural menapause. Had bone sensity scan - no die injected? 16 mths ago. I have had painful joints throughout but my hands cramp up and i feel aches in every little bone , especially at night. My gp just says its side effects but i wonder if its nothing to do with meds and if its arthiritis. Will this show up on my bone density scan in Jan 2014
I'm just not happy with hubby's breathing. My mind is going into overdrive and I'm convinced that the cancer has spread. I'm trying to keep a lid on things but why does everything take so damn long. The week before his neck dissection I noticed he was a little short of breath, not all the time, just now and again. I mentioned it to him and he hadn't noticed (now there is a surprise!) Why are men so hopeless at being body aware? I wonder if it's because they don't have cycles and...
Pain in my pelvic secondaries with fractures became unbearable and so I tried to get help via my GP on Thursday last, before the weekend shutdown. My pain control had been based on ibuprofen full doses, with paracetamol. This had been adequate until about two weeks ago. I phoned McMillan Helpline to find out what to do. They listened to my story, took my personal details and advised me to ask my GP to refer me for palliative care services as soon as possible.
The GP surgery put me in a telephone...
Evening all,
I think that is it fair to say that life is hard at the moment. When someone you love dies it’s like you’ve been left with a huge crack down the centre of your body and being. I know that it will be different for everyone but for me my father was responsible for creating the world I lived in all my life, I have never known a life without him. He wasn’t the sort of dad who you loved but didn’t really respect much – I never outgrew him as a person, he was always so much bigger than me...
Hi everyone,
I know that listening to other people's dreams is a total drag - "I had such weird dreams last night" is a comment that stirs an internal sigh, especially when announced in the morning, pre-caffeine. You ask politely, then they go on to ramble about the fact that a their favourite pair of converse turned into the Lord of the Horses that had hair like Margaret Thatcher which was obviously her old Maths teacher in spirit. Boring to listen to but fun and therapeutic to tell....
Hello,
I just thought that I would introduce myself and tell you why I decided to start a blog on this site. First of all, hi and I'm sorry to see you here too. Consider this me giving you a virtual hug.
So my dad died about two months ago and I have been wandering around in a very sad and very nostalgic daze of total shock. He left me a letter with huge amounts of advice in - paragraphs relevant to almost every aspect of life: how to throw a party, how to choose a husband, how to keep money...
Found my way to The Room last night, down that long corridor and past all those doors that had distracted me in recent weeks. What I want to say about The Room in my blog will, I hope, help others find release there too.
I have a clear and photographic imagination that helps me to understand things and write about them. To me the room is clean and white. Whatever may have happened there with the last person to use it has been totally cleared away. No bloodstains, no vomit, no mess at all. The Room...
Hi everyone.
This is my first attempt at this. I have recently lost my father who was an extremely fit 79 year old to a form of aggressive Lymphoma. He went into hospital a little over a month ago, complaining of, no that is wrong, I am sorry. Dad never complained about anything really. He had a sore back, on his left side, and went for some tests. Dad was admitted to hospital and after more tests was advised that some "nodes" had been found in his lower tummy, and that they were treatable. He had...
