My dad was diagnosed with terminal cancer a couple of months ago and my mum and sister and me are looking after him at home now.
Unfortunately he took an awful chest infection over a week ago and was taken into hospital.We've got him home again but he constantly feels sick. He's on loads of meds and 2 anti-nausea ones and 2 really strong antibiotics. The thing is the sickness has floored him. Well another week has gone during this Cancer Fight but if you have been keeping up, then you will know that nothing has happened really this week and it is really draging me down and making me feel so low, this is making me have really black moods again I sit and seem to sink deep into a murky place that i am unable to see a way out, i think that others will think that i am daft and should pull my socks up and get on with it, but it was only in August that i was given a little hope...
Hallelujah! It is a Saturday and, wait for it... "Wooah We're Halfway There!" (Bon Jovi, 1986). With the battle truly underway I have pulled forward my two latest weapons. Extra strong cocodamol was first and following two bursts during the night I managed over 8 hours pain free sleep. Its not all one sided though as ulceration is creeping round to the left side of the mouth as well now. So enter weapon number 2 - Igloo. They don't let you know in advance how bad it will be or nobody would do it and "it is to kill the cancer".
I have to keep saying that but it slips so easily off the tongue it makes me feel sick to write it.
My hubby gets upset at seeing anyone as every time we do it seems to be more bad news.

I kept my appointment today at the oncology unit, which is well designed and very friendly, and saw the consultant oncologist, (Dr Onc). It was not a happy experience and, as thre are other things I'm expected to do at home right now, I'll try to be brief.
Dr Onc was running one hour late. That of itself didn't matter as this was the NHS and my fellow patients waiting were charming, interesting people and the time passed easily. When my turn came my wife and I were shown into an examination...
I'm due to see Dr Onc, (not his real name), on Friday at the Unit. Ok so far as they look after me very well.
Pains from my pathological fracture(s) of the pelvis are generally better but have shifted. The urinary symptoms, day and night, are worse. I have the printed results of my blood tests last week and I will have them with me for my onc appointment. I'm not sure what's going on but, as my PSA continues to rise, it means The Enemy is active again. Worrying outlook. All will be well...

No real news since last Wednesday I was talking to some of the other members, and they suggested that if no information was forth coming in the post today then to phone up, so I phoned up the local mac people at the hospital, she said that she had not had any news and would phone my surgeons secretary, but by the end of the day there was still no news, so as you all can imagine i am feeling very alone and in need of some information but now it looks as...
