    Bile is vile
My dad has recently been diagnosed with bile duct cancer he has been told it has not spread and it looks operatable but research shows it is a quick killing cancer is there any inspirational thoughts out there or any feel good stories of survival :(

    Finally some reassurance!
I went back to the hospital today and saw the consultant. He was very good and was able to answer my questions, he also checked all of my moles and fortunately they were all fine. I don't need to have any further surgery either which is great. I left there feeling positive for the first time since being diagnosed with melanoma in March - what a difference it makes seeing a doctor who actually knows what they are doing! (Nothing was mentioned about my disasterous appointment 2 weeks ago!) I am going...

    the calm before the storm
Yesterday was shaping up to be another lazy day until I got my sizeable butt in gear mid-afternoon and brought the accounts up to date - 6 hours work but really pleased it's out of the way and all the little bits of paper are off my desk! Also caught up with a ton of laundry and cleaned the kitchen. Then caught up on emails including one from a work friend who wanted to meet up sometime this week. Leaving it a bit late but I rang to see if she was free today and she was - Tuesday is Results Day and...

    So, we had the talk...
My husband and I sat talking in bed for almost 2 hours last night and I cant begin to tell you how much better I feel. I told him everything I needed to say about what was bothering me and asked him the questions I needed to. We both cried a little (well I cried alot!) but I think we had a breakthrough. Amongst other things I asked him why he hadnt shown any emotion or tried talking to me about my illness. He said he was just trying to be strong and bottle it all up like he did the first time...

    First Blog - Its Back
Hello Everyone This is the first time I have 'blogged' anywhere so bear with me if I seem not to know what I am doing cos I DONT! I was originally diagnosed with Stage 4 Lung Cancer with Metastases in November last year and underwent both radio and chemotherapy (Gem/Carbo). The tumours shrank and I was doing great. Started with some back pain about 6 weeks ago but held off going to the docs until my follow up appointment (don't ask me why, I don't know). Well, had another CT scan and a bone scan...

    What an inspiration.
My sister was diagnosed in april with AML, and a month ago my friend phoned to tell me her dad had been diagnosed with Terminal Pancreatic cancer, and liver secondaries, he was a fit and healthy person, a runner, didnt smoke etc, it seems if your supposed to get cancer you do, without prejudice, no matter how hard you try (even though it seems so unfair!!) I went to visit him last week, when i was at hospital with my sister, and he was a shadow of himself! Yet he still made the effort to sit up...
