    Just a short one!
Its just a short one tonight and nothing too emotionally taxing either as I dont want you all to think I am an absolute wreck!! I have an appointment with my plastic surgeon tomorrow morning to discuss my very overdue breast reconstruction. I am not even going to second guess what she will say or how the appointment will go as I have been disappointed before, I will let you know how it goes. The other problem I have had is my skin!! I had my first Herceptin last Monday and did have it for almost...

    Feelings and emotions
Have had a fairly ok day today. Took my kids out for the day with some other mums from school. Have been feeling guilty though that I have had a good day and that i've been able to talk about Dad without breaking up. I still feel that I should be crying all day. After all its only been 5 days since my darling Dad died. Its really strange but I looked at a photo of Dad today and I thought I would feel so much pain, but I did'nt, its only as im writing this now that the tears have started. Is that it...

Housework or cuddles? I know which I prefer.
Had another day of wanting to spring clean today. This plan was shattered when my eldest daughter and the grandchildren arrived bearing gifts. (Had brought lunch) I won't pretend that I didn't prefer playing with and cuddling them to doing housework, but feel I need to get my act together soon to have everything sorted before I go away for the weekend prior to surgery. Had a bit of a siesta this afternoon, as not sleeping at night so in the day I am exhausted. Now I have finished work for the foreseeable...

    a good day
Evening all, Hope you're all dealing with your day as well as you'd like... Well yesterday's exertions(!) meant that I slept until 9.30am - excellent! So got ready, stuffed some envelopes and set off for hospital. Bloods taken by familiar nurse(s) who joked about my crap veins (not true!) - I'd still like to know where veins 'go'? Really. Meanwhile, she's got in first time and it's trickling merrily so Ha! Then a 30 minute wait for Consultant... I asked him if he had PET scan pictures that I could...

    Jump off time..
Well just got back with Mum from the oncologist, she starts her first chemo cycle tomorrow, wish us luck, she is very positive, I am apprehensive about her ability to cope with the side effects more to follow, have to keep the faith, and she has her appetite back again....... Slept till 7 am. I had an appointment today with Occupational Health at work and have decided to take early retirment on ill health grounds and access my pension. This means that I will be able to do some of the things that I have been promising myself and my family for years. Was a bit upset at first...

    Turn myself inside out
The one comment that gets e down and i know this sounds so silly is when someone says you look well or you look better. Grrrrrrr if i turned myself inside out nobody would sit near me let alone talk to me. I know they mean well but personally i feel like they are saying there is nothing wrong with you really or i am lying about it. I have a big scar on my throat so i have proof lol. I think they expect me to walk around with no hair or a bandana on. Think i will design a t-shirt which says...
