What an inspiration.

Less than one minute read time.
My sister was diagnosed in april with AML, and a month ago my friend phoned to tell me her dad had been diagnosed with Terminal Pancreatic cancer, and liver secondaries, he was a fit and healthy person, a runner, didnt smoke etc, it seems if your supposed to get cancer you do, without prejudice, no matter how hard you try (even though it seems so unfair!!) I went to visit him last week, when i was at hospital with my sister, and he was a shadow of himself! Yet he still made the effort to sit up, (dispite how frail he is) and make conversation with me, most of which consisted of how my sister is doing and how he will pray for her on the day of her transplant, i was reduced to tears! Here he is with his own terrible illness and he's worrying about me and my sister!! He has inspired me greatly, showing even with all that is going on, people can be so thoughtful and comforting and selfless. I just wanted to let everyone know how grateful i am to know that there are wonderful people like this in the world. Much love Lynnxxxx

yes cancer is indiscriminate, it happens, we cope the best we can,and anyone who is affected by it would never wish it on their worst enemy, my brother and i were both told we were terminal within months of each other and encouraged each other to fight .... every bit of good news was rejoyced by the other, sadly he passed a year ago... but i know wherever he is he is still rooting for me and would be so happy that i am still doing well.... good luck to all of you..liz xxxxx

Thanks liz, i'm so sorry to hear about your brother, i read your profile and you've certainly been through the wars!!! And i was pleased to read your most recent blog!!! My sister has to have a bone marrow transplant, i'm a match so we have that coming up on the 17th of september, so hopefully we'll both be celebrating in that month.  Thankyou for your comment, its so nice to know people care and take the time to ease your mind, and i'm especially glad you have a positive story.

    Hope you keep well

    Luv n hugs
