    Flowers, Flowers everywhere

Well just had a lovely bath and my hair washed by eldest daughter and feel half like a human again.......

Pre 28th Sept I used to moan about never being given flowers but never again. There are few ups to having cancer but the flowers are a deffo. My house looks like Covent Garden at the moment, there are flowers of every description all over the house and I have now run out of vases...so glad some of them came with their own temporary vases lol.

Much apologies for my miserable post earlier, I...

    flying visit

    Hi guys,

So been hooked up for 2nd round of IVE (Tuesday til Sunday am) - straightforward really - sick once on the last day but shattered from having to get up every couple of hours to give urine sample; after the PE scare, they kept up with a lower dose blood thinner 'just in case'; let me out on sunday afternoon and am going back in an hour. Had a lovely time just being at home, transferring CDs to my giant ipod (laptop) and getting the lads to buy me i-tunes. God, I love my family.

    I...

    Over Ambitious.......just a tad

    Hi All.

Its now 6 days since I had my lumpy removed along with auxillary node clearance and I had the stupid notion that I would be  back to work by tomorrow. Came out of hospital on Friday afternoon and felt ok just tired (what can you expect when people are waking you every hour just to do your obs) and had a fantastic full nights sleep. Woke feeling really good and full of get up and go.

Spent Saturday fighting off daddy longlegs and catching up on all the washing but still went to bed a little...

my dad is dying and my best friend won't speak

the only time i really need support from my best friend she stops calling.  i don't get it... she can be there for her neighbour when her husband is dying of cancer but when it's my dad the conversation gets changed every time i mention him and now she won't even call.

we can't see each other as often as we would like as she's in ayrshire and i'm in aberdeenshire but surely she could pick up the phone????

am i being selfish or is she being a bad friend??

    clearly i'm asking...

    Inching out of a depression

Just three weeks away from finishing all the treatments and I went under completely. Seeing the end of the long haul of operation and treatments  insight I felt truly depressed about the probabilty of my cancer returning (I have an endometrial cancer Grade 111C) and of dying within the next few years.

I'd been reading through the internet descriptions of my cancer and, it hit me, without denial attached, just how precarious my life is now. How likely it is that the cancer will return somewhere....

    Silent But Deadly

My father, age 65 was diagnosed with terminal metatstatic pancreas cancer following a CT scan in April 2009 after suffering with misdiagnosed conditions since February 2009 (it was thought he had an ulcer, gall stones, pylori...).  He visited his GP so many times and after reading the symptoms of pancreas cancer I find it hard to believe they didn't spot this.

He was dreadfully ill and I after being in and out of hospital with no real diagnosis I finally decided enough was enough and took him...

  • There's something to tell you about mum...
    Wilful ignorance

I've found a coping mechanism.  It's called not thinking about it.  Also known as pretending everything is fine.  For some of the time I've even been able to persuade myself that there's nothing up and mum will be fine forever.

In the beginning I wilfully said to myself "OK, this is real.  It IS happening".  I thought I would get used to it.  How do you get used to it?  Do you start grieving now?  I spent a while panicking about whether it's going to be horrible for mum (not wanting...

    BOOTSALE FOR MACMILLAN SUPPORT.

Up at 5-30, while hubby loaded car i made a flask of coffee and some sarneys

So much packed in the car no room for me.lo, so i was going to follow later,

and get the bus. I didn,t mind this very much as i could get some housework

done without hubby under my feet. 6-30 and the skies opened up, continued

for a while then stopped. I had done three loads of washing by 9-30 but had

no where to hang it as the rain started again. Phoned hubby to see how he

was getting on, not good at the moment he...
