Oh well I'm annoyed....I posted a blog this morning and it has disappeared off the face of the internet lol. Well I cant remember exactly what I put but it was something like treatment went well yesterday. I expected it would as this Herceptin is a bit of a breeze although I do feel a little tired today. Thats nothing new!! I stubbed my toe this morning on the hoover just as I was leaving for school run, have a nasty gash across the top. I had to hobble all the way to school in the rain and it...
Doctor for intensive care just called and scared me. He is doing the same. She is so negative and I don't really like her, I would like to get him transferred somewhere else but don't think at this point that is possible. She said hubby has massive infection in his stomach area which he has had since being in hospital 4 weeks ago. His kidneys are not working well, they are having trouble keeping his blood pressure up, etc.etc.etc. Not to mention the cancer. His platelets are low from his...
I just need to let off some steam and have a quick rant and rave.
Had a really good day up - hospital appointments and transport all ran smoothly - and then I had a call from my BC Nurse.
I felt fine until I mentioned that I had received my appointment for another CT scan for the shadow on my lung (Wednesday 11th November) which is the week after treatment finishes.
What if it is cancer - what if it is cancer caused by the breast cancer - does that mean all this treatment and stress I have been...
Well the doctor finally came last night, dad was given a morphine injection as they thought it might be a muscle spasm they was told to give it a hour and if the pain hadnt subsided to call them back in, inevitably the injection never worked and the doctor had to come back out again, they tested his urine and thought he maybe had a infection so he was given antibiotics and diazepam to help him sleep. He did finally get some sleep unfortunately me and mum did not get a sleep. He seems ok today thankfully...
Hi everyone, I havent logged on for a while but its good to be back. I m really happy to report nothing but positives. Joe only has another 10 days of chemo and is doing so well. Hes looking and feeling so much better and has maintained his weight, his bloods have been fine, no nausea, and hes even managed to hang on to most of his hair. When he was examined last the oncologist could not feel any mass in his stomach, I can only assume that this is good news but will have to wait for a CT to confirm...
Today my husband was able to get out of bed for the first time in eight days, he had his spinal brace fitted, He could therefore sit up and then his two physio ladies came to take him through his paces with a zimmer frame, but at least he is up. Hopefully he can come home and then we can go back for the percutaneous vertebroplasty. He has started the chemo properly last night and so we have to watch and wait to see if there are any side affects of the CDT cocktail.
Well! What a 48 hours we have all had!
Dad's coughing and pain was getting worse over the weekend and I finally managed to convince mum to ring the GP at 11a.m. on Sunday. Having done that she was told that all doctors had already left on there rounds so it could take 3-6 hours. Sounds dreadful, but at least some relief was in sight.
10 hours later a doctor arrived, listened to my mother talking about coughing up phlegm and prescribed anti-biotics and left. As all local out of hours pharmacies...
mums started her radiotherapy. They're zaping the tumours in her brain first of all, five days of zappage. Mums fine so far (think we're all more worried than she is!!) and has had no side effects yet.
The radiotherapisty person said she will definately lose her hair. He also said that she's to take control, shave it then go and get a wig before she has to watch it fall out gradually. Mum was totally dreading the hair loss.
Have to tell you though, we discovered a MOST AMAZING lady...
Dad has really been having a bad time lately, he was up early this morning wanting painkillers at round about 4am, mum controls his pain relief because he would just be taking them like sweets so he got her up this morning because he was so sore, we put it down to his stomach as he ate more than he has been eating lately yesterday. I was just with mum not long ago and when I was on the bus on my way home she called me to say that dad was still in pain, I told her to give him one of his breakthrough...
