Not coping

1 minute read time.

Dad has really been having a bad time lately, he was up early this morning wanting painkillers at round about 4am, mum controls his pain relief because he would just be taking them like sweets so he got her up this morning because he was so sore, we put it down to his stomach as he ate more than he has been eating lately yesterday.  I was just with mum not long ago and when I was on the bus on my way home she called me to say that dad was still in pain, I told her to give him one of his breakthrough pain relief and see how that went and if it didnt work to call the out of hours GP service because the least they can do for him is make him pain free in his final days/months.  I was hoping that that tablet would do the trick but she called me again to say that she had called the GPs so now I am waiting at home for her to call and let me know what has happened, I am dreading the phone call to say he has been taken into hospital, I am ready waiting in case it comes to that as the hospital is only 20 minutes walk from my house.  Hate waiting its always the worst.

To see your loved one in pain is so very

upsetting. The waiting for a doctor to

give relief can feel like forever, and the

poor person in pain gets more stressed

which makes the pain worse. Your poor Mum must be so scared , and you of course, i do hope the waiting is not

long for your Dad,and he gets  the pain

    releaf soon.
