Update from last night

Less than one minute read time.

Well the doctor finally came last night, dad was given a morphine injection as they thought it might be a muscle spasm they was told to give it a hour and if the pain hadnt subsided to call them back in, inevitably the injection never worked and the doctor had to come back out again, they tested his urine and thought he maybe had a infection so he was given antibiotics and diazepam to help him sleep.  He did finally get some sleep unfortunately me and mum did not get a sleep.  He seems ok today thankfully, told mum if the same thing happens just get the doctor out again.  I kept on forgetting the medication dad was changed onto from the morphine mum told me again last night its called hydromorphone, I looked at wikipedia and it turns out this is at least twice as strong as morphine which has totally unnerved me because I have never heard of anyone being on strongr that morphine, maybe thats just me been new to cancer and everything that goes with it.

Hello Terri, dont fret about the morphine strength, they obviously think he needs it. Definately get the doctor out no messing. I'm sure you and your mum are worn down by it all, amazing how you just keep on going and going. Mum and I nursed my dad so I understand how terrible it all is for you all. Love and big (((((((((((((hugs))))))))))))) Linda

Thank you Linda, it is very tiring we just feel worn out its coming up for a year since we started this nightmare.  People say to me and mum 'should you be at work?' what else can you do apart from plugging your head in the sand and sit all day stressing out.  We know that we will have to be away from work when the time comes and we need to be with dad all the time but at the moment work proves as a slight distraction, but it is very tiring working and dealing with this and all that it involves ie the sleepless nights and panda eyes the next day.
