    Day 38 Bertiebassetts return journey

We are getting nearer to bone marrow biopsy day and my tummy is churning thinking about the potential results. Bert is not feeling good as he has yet another infection and is back on IV antibiotics again. sometimes I feel as though he will never get out of that room he must be so fed up. The kids are away to a fund raising event tonight in aid of Anthony Nolan Trust. They are looking for ghosts in  Culzean Castle and having a psychic reading too and as much as I would have loved to go I would rather...

    Turn for the worse

I took a call from the hospital today, not good. MIL condition has deteriorated significantly. The doctor told me that she believes time is now very short weeks or days rather than the hoped for months.

I had to tell my hubby when he got in from work and also had to tell her sister in scotland over the phone. Hard hard conversations.

Feeling strangely numb. Have made all the important calls and now we wait for tomorrow when we can take the children in to see her and make plans to bring up sister...

dobbin who gave his all for the cause

Hey I remember the coal hoss and cart.

oh yes he was big hoss and he delivered coal onto the pier for the steam trawlers/drifters that worked the port fishing for cod and haddock or anything else foolish enough to out its head into the oncoming net. all were accepted the unsalable been sold to the crab potters for bait the payment of which in cash was named "RANGHAM"  a strange name but one well understood and used to this day to describe cash in the hand business.

    Well these old and...

    Waiting Game

    Hello

I was wondering if anyone can tell me how long they waited until they had their first Chemo session. My dad was diagnoised 6 weeks ago and it may be another 2 weeks until his first chemo appointment - is this normal? I guess we all worry and just want things to move as quick as possible.

    Telgirls dance with cance.....day 1

Well now I know, not the news I wanted but I can't change that so have decided on how to move forward. Since I have all the facts now and know this is not going to be a short run thing I have decided to do this blog bit correctly like Deb's and Andrew (wonderful people with a wicked sense of humour). This in my mind is now my day 1 and the dance and cance is deliberate...not typo error.

Spent all yesterday feeling sorry for myself, crying at the drop of a hat and bloody angry that the doc...

    The Devestation

Thank you everyone who commented on my first two bloggs.

My life has just become a nightmare as I lost my dear wife Liz on Monday afternoon19th October.

I lay in bed with her for 48 hours, only moving to allow nurses to do their marvelous work and change her driver,

She seemed to deteriorate rapidly over the previous weekend as the reallity started to hit home I became so selfishly upset.....

I held her head on my arm and held each hand as I constantly chatted to her every second of those final...
