Day 38 Bertiebassetts return journey

Less than one minute read time.

We are getting nearer to bone marrow biopsy day and my tummy is churning thinking about the potential results. Bert is not feeling good as he has yet another infection and is back on IV antibiotics again. sometimes I feel as though he will never get out of that room he must be so fed up. The kids are away to a fund raising event tonight in aid of Anthony Nolan Trust. They are looking for ghosts in  Culzean Castle and having a psychic reading too and as much as I would have loved to go I would rather be with Bert. Claire just text me to say that so far they have raised 5k from everyone who has attended and that their dad and another woman got a mention as benefiting from the fund raising so all in a good cause. but it will be dark and scary now.

Well done to your kids and I love the sound of the spooky evening in a castle.

I hope Berts infections get bored of him and bugger off to bother someone else, he has had more than his fair share of them now.

    Take care Teri.

    Hello Teri

You asked why Keith is at home while he has is chemo and I guess it is different for each person.

Keith's chemo is ten injections over five consecutive days once a month. In between these he has both blood and platelet transfusions on a regulars basis in fact he goes to the hospital almost every other day for blood tests. He is not a suitable candidate for BMT so the chemo is his only hope.

The week after the treatment he feels quite ill and all his readings seem to drop he has been in hospital three times this year with infections and this is usually just after treatment when he seems most vulnerable.

Congratulations on the fund raising. My daughter in law did the 10k run earlier this year even thoughshe was pregnant and suffering badly from morning sickness. People are amazing!!

    Love Tarnie
