We went to see MIL today. Hubby has been seeing her everyday but I've been having to stay at home with the children. We took the boys to say goodbye. She is unable to hold a conversation and struggles even to finish a sentence. It would be unfair I think, at their age, to take them back when she is worse than she was today.
My sister in law's carers will be bringing her to say goodbye tomorrow. With her it would be likewise unfair to take her to visit once Sylvia has declined further. She has...
If any one out there knows or cares or has Acute Myelo Fibrosis please do get in touch we have no way of chatting to other people because this condition is so very rare .
My husband had a secondary cancer of an of an undiagnosed primary. The secondary originated in his groin, and now seems to have materialised in the left side of his fase, which has become numb, and causes excess saliva. The doctors have diagnosed carcinomatous meningitis as the most likely cause, but this cannot be substantiated without a lumbar puncture and even then he would only be given palliative care due to his general condition.
Does anyone know anything about this type of cancer?
Everything started going downhill from 16th September 2009. I received an urgent email from my cousin that my aunt, my Mum's sister, in Australia had passed away. I couldn't quite believe the news, she wasn't sick, she was in her 60's. I was on the phone to my sister, Hannah, at the time and couldn't quite believe the email. Immediately, I told Hannah I would phone her back as I had to try to get though to my Mum to break the news. No one was picking up the phone at home, so I phoned her work phone...

I am just 33 yrs old and my consultant was not expecting this either, I have been suffering bladder infections and kidney infections for many years but have increased for the past year, a spell in hospital with pain/fever and blood loss led to me having this cystosocopy and retrograde plylogram which...

Good question...lots of things today. Decorating kids bedrooms at the mo so upstairs is a tip. Dan has gone to work this morning and we need to go shopping later too. None of us are dressed yet but nevermind. I have my CT scan on Monday which I am a bit nervous about. For one thing I need to get there early to drink that god awful Gastro stuff. Last time they sent me a bottle to drink at home. It gross...I downed each cup whilst holding my nose then gagging a few times before the taste went away....
I was diagnosed with HL stage 2b in March 09, just finished 6 cycles of abvd and now waiting for a PET scan and i have been told i will only be given radio if active cells or hot spots are shown ?
However others i know are having radio as a matter of course to make sure that the cancers is dead and their consultants have said that active cells can hide and not show up on PET so having radio is the best way of making sure it is dead.
Can anyone shed a bit of light on this please as i'm worried they...
Diagnosed with bladder cancer in August 2008. TURBT in September then a re-do in November. After checkup in March 2009 went for BCG (6 sessions) then another check up in September. It was decided that I should have radical cystectomy in November. I still have to decide if I have a reconstruction or Urostomy. I need to know what the pros & cons are although I feel that living with a bag is something I could cope with. I am male and 70 years old. Any comments appreciated.
