Hello all - I did start a group called Hillingdon & Hayes Chat & Share a while ago and notice I got some members - I just wanted to say thanks for joining but I was a bit "tied" up with my own health getting myself back on track after Bob's treatment and didnt do much with the group for which I am very sorry. If there are any out there who want to join me and have a chat about our problems, carers and cancer suffers together then I will be monitoring my group alot better now...
Hello my darling husband. I dont think I believe in the afterlife but just in case, I hope you can hear me. It will be 18 wks on Saturday since you had to go. It is so hard and I just cant see it getting any easier. There is just this empty space next to me everywhere I go. When I am work, and the phone rings, for a split second, I think that it may be you ringing in like you did. It is all so painful. I really dont know if I can go on without...how stupid though because I have to. Christopher needs...

My story started on 10th May 2007 when I was told that I probably had about 2 years left to live. It was also the day I found out what life is all about.
To my Family and Friends: Please accept my sincere apologies for anything I say in this Biography or on any threads that my cause upset. Everything said is from the heart, as I see and feel it at any given time.
I am a 51 year old mother of two beautiful boys and have the most wonderful husband in the world. I was diagnosed with Oesophageal Cancer...
Having some bone marrow taken - I wonder if there's any truth in it when the doctor tells you that some people hardly notice the procedure at all?
I recently went to have some bone marrow taken as part of assessing the extent of the NHL and this is how things went.
The during the time in the waiting room we at first started to pass the time by reading a 1998 edition of What Caravan, but soon we were distracted by the noises coming from the room where this procedure was taking place. The middle...
Since my retirement I have pursued a hobby that I have always wanted to do, tracing my family tree. This is the only thing at times that keeps me going - I get carried away for hours researching my ancestors & it takes my mind away from this dreaded disease.
Amongst many interesting characters in my tree, I have found a very distant relative who, at the age of 4 in 1856, journeyed from Bradford, Yorkshire to the USA after his parents were converted to the Church of the Latter Day Saints. His mother...
The first week of treatment was very difficult. Had nausea and felt sick, however after taking 2 types of antisickness tablets it helped me overcome. I have experienced pain and it has been a real learning experience in dealing with taking pain killers as I have always avoided drugs where possible. However I have had to overcome my fear of taking them - a fear of being awake but not being able to move. Am taking 30 mg codeine phosphate 4 times a day, 2 x paracetamol, and amitryptaline (taken mostly...

I wanted to respond to every one who wrote to me after my blog with my thanks to them all - in particular the lady called Sally who said "I feel like I've lost him already" and wow did that hit home - that's how I felt every day that he was already gone, already shrivelling away infront of me especially after the radiotherapy which was agony for him. My Counsellors said to me something that put it all in perspective "you are grieving while he is still with you" and that made...
