Well follow up appointment with oncologist to see how the infection was clearing up yesterday, Appointment was for 9.30 so mum picked me up in good time due to the snow and off we went. Had to wait for a long time and then the nurse called my name and off I went, she then proceeded to weigh me which did confuse me a little and the asked about taking blood. Why I asked and she explained that it was the normal procedure when you have treatment. I explained that I was only here to find out if I needed...
Hey All
Well have spent the last few months back and forwards to London having meetings about my stem cell harvest / rescue.
I had a short chemo 2 weeks ago then growth injections at home for 10 days but unfortunately got a water infection so my white cells were used to fight the infection rather than producing stem cells.
So now on antibiotics which are making me feel really sick and i have to go for another meeting on Tuesday December 29th to see what to do next.
I might have to do it again...

It is with much sadness to say that my dad passed away at 6.40am today. He was pretty unresponsive at the end of last week. I found out from one of the nurses on Thursday night that this was the end, I attended a appointment with mum and dads doctor on Friday so mum could be told this news. From Friday I basically never left his side from then, it was the ongoing joke that I had moved into the hospice as I was only at home for a couple of hours on Saturday for clothes. Me and mum stayed at nights...
What is it about Xmas that makes me a snivelling wreck? I was driving home today from the shops when I put the radio on and one of the Xmas songs I love came on - the old sort of Phil Spector 'Baby please come home', you know it?
So I started singing along, and felt ok - looking forward to Xmas, have my son and daughter-in-law, my mum, my hubby, dog, and our best friends and their old dad coming - then, suddenly, I'm crying instead of singing. Suddenly, the sheer horror we faced this...
I would like to thank you all for being our friend. My husband has oesophagus cancer and it has spread to his lymph glands. When I showed him your replies it cheered him up, it made him realise that you do not have to be alone.
Best wishes

My dad was diagnosed in Feb 2009 with Liver Cancer. My dad died on Saturday 19th of Dec 2009. My dad was a strong fit and healthy man, a man who never complained about physical work and was the rock of our family. He was a generous, kind and loving man, though I had my ups and downs with him. The decline health wise in my dad came on very suddenly. Only a few weeks ago, I kind of almost forgot that he even had Cancer. But 3 weeks ago he bacame very jaundiced and had Odema in both legs. He couldnt...
Ive just collected Joe from hospital, hes upstairs playing on his xbox and has eaten a KFC on the way home. All seems so normal, so good and this makes what we have just been told by his surgeon so so difficult to comprehend. We were told that the tumour was large but confined to the stomach wall and out of 18 lymphnodes removed only 2 were effected - so far so good - then he told us that whilst he was operating he noticed some suspicious areas the size of pinheads on Joes transverse colon. He said...
dad has ben taken off the drug trail because he was suffering too many side effects, the consultant said that many of his patients on this trial were suffering the same and the benefits did not outway the side effects.
we were originally told if he went on this drug trail there was no going back but evidently something happened because he has started back on sutent today.
Although i am glad he will not suffer so much, this drug was supposed to work where sutent did not so that leaves me feeling...
