    Hi everyone...

just to say i havent disappeared! first week in new flat and enjoying it. only 15 mins to work on the bus now opposed to 1 hour 15 mins when i was living in london. flat mates are good and i am settling nicely.

went to my new gp practice yesterday and saw the nurse re dressings. she said there was nothing more she could do and it was now a matter of time, the wound is about 85% healed and it will be another 2 months before it is 100% better.

Reluctant Journey - Time to Breathe.

I have come to a 'moment in time' where I can just breathe the sea air where I live  and  for a short moment forget Cancer ever came in to my life.  BUT Driving my car today I was stuck behind someone who was going so slow, I was almost shouting 'Hurry Up - I havn't got all the time in the world'  and  when I see something I want I just think 'Have it!  I havn't got long, so I may as well enjoy it' - All very tongue in cheek

For me,  I have to make a joke of it, or risk...

    Paperwork

At last I have written confirmation for Aug 20th - Wide Excision and SLNB. It's been a long time coming, and until I actual got the call - even though I'd been told I was listed, I was still nervous. But just to play with my mind a tiny bit more, the letter says "report at 7:30 a.m. - ring before leaving to make sure there is a bed". Well, all I can say is, there'd better be. I know it's a pro-forma letter, but do they really go as far as getting the operating theatre, the surgeon, the anaesthetist...

    Coping

I will be having my second TAC chemo on Mon 16th if all ok with blood test.  Last week whilst on holiday I spent two nights in Withybush Hospital with an infection.  Hard to believe, as I had little contact with anyone or anything.  However the staff were great and Dr Anne was fab and soon I was back enjoying the North Pembrokeshire coast with my husband and four year old son

I have been told by my consultant not to go to the office whilst having treatment due to the size of the open plan office and...

    Glad to have Pat home

I thought I'd give blogging a go as since my husband Patrick was diagnosed with invasive bladder cancer in February I have found it therapeutic to write down what we are going through and how I'm feeling.

Pat underwent 3 rounds of chemo after diagnosis and 2 weeks ago had a radical cystectomy.  He came home from hospital yesterday.  Having him in the hospital brought to the surface the fear I have been feeling since his diagnosis.  I'm hoping having thought through the different possibilities...

    The wanderer.....

    ….returns!

Dr Socks is back! He didn’t go to Cromer in a caravan, neither did he sail between exotic tropical islands and sadly I don’t think he bought himself any commemorative holiday socks…but he’s back.

I was quite surprised at how pleased I was to see him. Not in a weak at the knees in awe of the great doctor way, I don’t do that sort of thing. Besides, when you’ve been told of the entertaining antics of the off-duty version it’d be hard to be in awe and...
