    Guilt
Well after all my whinging someone has just managed to make me feel really guilty.
Someone reading my blog on a cancer support site thought initially that I was the one suffering with cancer.

It upset me a bit, but the more I think about it, yes I know the blog is sometimes self indulgant and may look like wallowing in self pity, but I honestly believe that the blog is meant to be used as a tool for emotional release.

It is meant to be a journey of how I am dealing with this, emotionally...

  • Dad, cancer and me
    the middle!

Well after a fairly good run of being stable, Dad had a blip yesterday, Mum said his blood pressure dropped and he was complaining of being even more tired.  The GP has upped his iron dose and he will have tests next week before seeing the specialist.  The last time this happened he had a stomach bleed and was hospitalised.  Timing as ever impeccable Dad, with Mum's birthday on Monday!

I had hoped that the situation would encourage Dad to come out of his permanent cave but we are no more the wiser...

    Angels & Demons
I havn't blogged for a few days for the simple reason, I havn't seen mum that much really.

This demon that is my depression seems to have taken hold for the past week, so up and down.

Yes, a lot of it is to do with mum, but what can I do? I suppose ultimately the feeling of being uselessness leads to feeling like this.

Mum has been too tired to come over to my house and when she has been well enough she seems to have other things planned.

Sunday when I wanted to take her to the...

    Cancer
    When cancer comes along,
it creeps and makes no sound,
    it worms’ its way inside,
    its’ limits, know, no bounds
Young or old, makes no difference,
    You see,
it really doesn’t care, if it’s you
    Or, if it’s me.
I wish with all my heart,
I could take away her pain
And gently rock her in my arms,
    and make her well again.

Looking after my hubby with colon cancer after surgery

Hi,I'm Ticcy and this April ,the day before me,hubby and our two young children ( 8 & 10)  were headed for Dubai to celebrate my 40th birthday,my husband found out he had something bad in his colon. This came as a huge shock to us.

    Since then hubby has...

    Busy days and....

    ....lumps ‘n’ bumps!

I’m cream crackered! Pleasantly cream crackered it has to be said.

Yesterday was a busy day. We took the children to watch the Severn Bore. It wasn’t the most spectacular one I’ve seen, it was a three star version (the best being a five star). For their first one they were suitably impressed with the power of nature! The wave was big enough for the surfers brave enough to dodge the water propelled tree trunks to surf for a while, although I don’t suppose...

  • I never expected that
    End of week 2 - OK-ish

It's been a bit up and down this week. I don't know what got into me on Wednesday - apart from a bit of tiredness I felt really chipper and very glad that the nausea of week one hadn't returned. Unfortunately the last couple of days haven't been quite so great - the nausea is back and I've been a bit more sore and tired. The nausea is still manageable though so I guess I'm still doing pretty well all things considered.

I'm glad we are heading into the weekend now so can enjoy...
