    re hysteroscopy

    Hi folks,

Just wanted to update on test today. Very nice pleasant female registrar, very gentle and understanding of my difficulties re mobility.

Anyway lining of uterus very normal apart from one polyp,  which could be caused by Tamoxifen. Biopsy taken but she said she was very confident it is benign and wouldn't cause any probs. Will wait for results but not worried.

    Take care all.

    From chaos to calm

    Hi all

Was due to have the first chemo of the second cycle today. Woke up to pouring rain this morning, typical as I had done a load of washing to leave out while at the hospital. Then I drove my son to the train station in what appeared to be monsoon weather and as he got out of the car my mobile rang, " Quick",said hubby, "Come home now, the hospital have just rung and they want you to have another blood test as the one you had done yesterday was inconclusive !". "Oh sugar" I said (and if you...

    back home again

Well I'm back home again after my hectic week away, starting with our WA picnic, then 5 days with my daughter and 2 grandaughters, then the drive back home.  I hadn't realised (and I suppose I should have) that driving distances after nearly 2 years of only doing local driving would be very tiring. I think I'm over that now, and getting back to normal, (though my daughter came down yesterday and we had the afternoon out with them).  Next week is my check up, after 2 months, and I have a...

    Jools Irving's Funeral

    Hello friends of Jools

As promised here are the details of the funeral of our dear friend Jools.

It will take place on Friday 13 August at 12.45pm at the Crematorium at Whitley Bay Cemetery, Blyth Road, Whitley Bay, NE26 4NH.  I understand this is on the Seafront opposite St Mary's lighthouse.

There will be a small reception afterwards at the Briar Dene Pub, approx. 10 mins walk away.  As there is limited parking at the Crem you could park at the pub and walk if that is easier.

    struggling

I don't know where to start but am already crying. Dad had been doing so well considering, until last thursday. The GP has said this *****! disease is spreading rapidly and he only has a month maybe 2. Yesterday I went to see them and he looked totally different - bright, out of pain and eating! I just can't comprehend this and am really struggling.

I know the day is going to come but can't believe it,and whilst life continues whatever I don't know how we will all go on without him there...

Cancer makes you question people and things.

Am I the only one who now questions everything and everyone since getting ovarian cancer.  Friends and family, who it must be hard for to see me go through this, I just question them all the time in my mind, are they doing that out of sympathy for me or do they actually want to be with me.  Feel I have to be cheerful all the time, saying Im fine, everbody I meet saying your looking well, as if Im not supposed to be!!!  Just get so damn tired being positive for everyone and not making anyone feel awkward...

    My Grandparents

When I was younger, around 4 years old, my grandad was diagnosed with cancer.
Like anyone else who has a family member battling cancer or even battled it, you would know that it puts a strain on not just close family members, but on close friends and aquaintances.
The nurses and doctors did what they could.. unfortunetly he passed away.
The same goes for my grandmother a year later.
Then in 2007 my other grandmother passed away, as did I try to do anything and everything I could for a person my age.

    Not bad at all!

Well that will teach me for jumping the gun.  My scan was absolutely fine and I can just carry on with the Herceptin for at least the next 3 months.  I got in to the Drs office and she asked how I'd been feeling and if I was concerned about anything...so I mentioned the 'lumps' I had felt.  She told me nothing new had shown on the scan and that she would have a feel anyway.  She examined me thoroughly all along my collarbone and neck and said it felt fine to her, then she showed me the CT...
