Hi all,
Well I 've got my CT scan appointement for next Tuesday, and I'm told the appointment for my oncologist for Friday 10th is on the way, so will they do anything before Christmas?
I'm trying to keep myself as busy as I can, out for lunch tomorrow (today's got cancelled!) then a christmas concert in the evening, reflexology tomorrow morning and friend to lunch, and we are away in our motorhome with Locovan this weekend, back for Tuesday for my scan, up to see our Grandaughters...
steve went to chrstie this morning to have drain put in tummy, but his blood is too thin, so he was admitted, in for few days has been giving meds to thicken his blood before they try the drain again, they will do a scan of the tummy as they seem to think the cancer has spread, when will it all end? so we can spend quality time together before he is too sick

Well, I'm not sure how to write personally yet but, to everyone who replied to my last blog 'Can anyone help please?!!!' I would like to say a huge thank you for all your reassurances. I know I will have more moments when I get worried about something and it's good to know that there are people out there who can help. We may be strangers and distant in familiarisation but, we're not so estranged and unfamiliar in under one main title......we're all human beings in a time of need. ...
Feeling very tearful today, my bestest auntie has gone in for op on bowel. She was wonderful when i was recovering from my mastectomy, coming all the way from Worcester, down to Cornwall to look after me. We have always been very close, more like sisters than neice and aunt.
Thank goodness our school is closed today due to snow and ice, explaining to five year olds why you have water on your face is tricky!
Sending her all our love and best wishes for a speedy recovery!

The docters are amazed at dad. he hasnt eaten for 6 weeks. His prefered place to die is at home with mum. They treated him very well at the hospice but dads happier at home. Dad has been very restless and we called out the chapline from the hospice on sunday as dad is not at peace. We have tried to talk to him but he doesnt say anything. Its so sad as he has lost so much weight and is very out of it. They sent a Maire Curie nurse round on saturday night. I also stayed with mum and they have phoned...
My wife has done so well with her fight against breast cancer. She has been braver than I can ever imagine someone could be. She has had breast cancer, treated with surgery a couple of times, chemo, radiotherapy and now hormone therapy. I think she is finding this last one the hardest as she struggles to sleep which is a torture in itself.
Even though I have lived with her through her experience I still have no idea what it must be like. The mental battle has perhaps been harder than the physical...
Monday is the day of Tony's Funeral. I am feeling a bit weird because I am strangely looking forward to it. There have been so many lovely gestures - peole writing and reading tributes, a friend playing bagpipes, army collegues in uniform and playing the trumpet, many many guests attending and a horse drawn hearse. I feel it will be a very special day and one he would have been extremely proud of. I am still feeling remarkably calm. I guess I will find out tomorrow if I can cope?
I miss you...
I've never written a blog or anything like this but i think i it will help me. Over the past seven months three of my family members have all been dianosed with tumours. In may dad was diagnosed with bowel cancer six weeks later, My mum was diagnosed with lung cancer second time but had surgery and is in remission. She had already beaten breast cancer and we thought she had beaten lung cancer. Mum's life has completely changed she is unable to go out without myself or my sister. Dad can't help out...
I escaped ward 20 on Tuesday, seven days after the op. I am now making a really good recovery even if I do say so myself!
The op was performed by key hole so I was under general anaesthetic for around six hours: colostomy and then (I think it is called) AR resection. It seems to have all gone OK although old scarring from a tricky delivery during the birth of our second daughter meant that the surgeon had to remove a little more tissue than she had anticipated.
The first 24 hours were a morphine...
