bowel cancer

Less than one minute read time.

Feeling very tearful today, my bestest auntie has gone in for op on bowel. She was wonderful when i was recovering from my mastectomy, coming all the way from Worcester, down to Cornwall to look after me. We have always been very close, more like sisters than neice and aunt.

Thank goodness our school is closed today due to snow and ice, explaining to five year olds why you have water on your face is tricky!

Sending her all our love and best wishes for a speedy recovery!

    Hi Babsx2,

My mum has just had the same op a few weeks ago, and all the fears and anxieties that go with it. She is due to start chemo soon and again all the feelings of the unkown have appeared. This is my first time dealing with something like this so close in my family so I kinda feel blind to what lies ahead. Don't worry, I'm sure everything will be ok.

Best wishes for your aunt, Brian99 x

Been there, done that, got the t shirt. I am sure she will be OK. I had my chemo before surgery but am now alive and well and living with a permanent stoma.

    Keep smiling

    love

Thanks so much for your replies. I wasn't expecting anyone to respond, just needed to express my feelings, to let things out.

I spoke to my uncle last night and he said that my aunt was doing very well, the op had gone well and she hadn't needed a stoma fitted, something that was worrying her. Now they just have to wait to hear if she will need any chemo.

    Many thanks.
