    Getting on with life

It's a funny old time round here and I have just spent ages trying to decide what emphasis to put on the title for this blog post. I am a lot better than I was but the bottom wound is still sore (and a few tiny millimetres are still healing). This didn't stop us having some Christmas fun and the girls' excitement about the big day was really sweet. Santa enjoyed the mince pie they left by the fireplace very much thank you!

Unfortunately just after Christmas, I realised that what I had...

Happy New Year (a bit late!)

Well I've made it to 2011 and had a really good Christmas with all of the family and celebrated the New Year with a minature bottle of Jamesons!!. Had a hangover this morning! Watched the London fireworks on TV - quite impressive.

Felt quite good since Xmas apart from the cold I can't shift. Started my new chemo this morning so writing this now before side effects kick in (ever the pessimist).

Radiotherapy on neck seems to have helped a bit so not sore all the time.

    Thanks for kind words

Hi today Im feeling much better and would like to say thankyou to jennifer 52, Sarsfield, Liz g, and alienzel for their kind words. I know think that life without a bladder is going to hopefully be life without cancer, so a bag isnt such a big deal. This site is so much help and I dont know what we would do without it. A very happy and healthy new year to you all. x Rosie0207

    Life after the big C?

Today I took down the xmas decorations, cleaned the lounge from top to bottom and relished in the normality now that xmas is out of the way, this led me to thinking how we will feel when (fingers crossed) Rich is cancer free.

Will life just go back to normal again or will there always be that "fear" that it will come back? Do you panic with every sniffle/ache/slight pain? Can you ever fully relax? I am sure there are those of you reading this who can offer me some kind of answer to my questions...

  • First Christmas & New Year without him
My first Christmas & New Year without him

Well it's over at last,  thank goodness. This is the worst Christmas and New Year I've ever had. It's 8 weeks since my wonderful husband died and I'm absolutely lost without him. Friends and family have been great, but they can't replace the love of my life. A neighbour asked me how Christmas had gone and I said 'awful'. She said it would be the same every year as Frank had died so near Christmas. That's something to look forward to!

Back to working full days tomorrow...

    emotions all over the place

Went to see specialist 23rd dec to be told surgery is the only option left for me so it is booked for 25th feb. What a xmas present. Im trying my hardest to keep it together but Im either really angry or I cry over nothing. I dont seem to have any normal feelings any more. I havent actually been out shopping or anything for over a year because my bladder is such a problem so you would think I would be thinking of the future and that I will eventually be able to go out but I cant. Im just feeling fed...

    Fate?

    Fate?

Do you believe in fate or is life just a bunch of coincidences? I have been thinking about this a lot today because there are so many things in my life that can be put down to fate that I wonder if it is possible? Let me explain...
Rich was born in Essex, me in Wales. By chance (fate?) his family had always holidayed in this area and decided to move here. Had that not happened then we would have never met.
The random email that was sent to everyone by his friend, had i not replied...

  • Caring - not sure i'm coping as well as people may think i am
    the suffering continues

i don't mean to sound like a horrible person and i think deep down if people are in the same position as me think the same - but sometimes, don't you just wish that the suffering would end even if early, but just so the suffering would stop.

Before christmas, mum had a bleed in her stomach - they've managed to sort that, but she's still getting weaker - now not eating anything at all just has three drinks a day - what kind of quality of life is this? Life is just so unfair - i'm thankful...
