    CATHETER IS OUT

Went to hospital this morning to have catheter removed, it went fine. I then had to hang around for an hour drinking fluids until I'd done two samples then an ultrasound to see if I'd emptied my bladder properly. It all went well. Very little pain as yet and fully emptied bladder. Now I just have to wait for my next appointment to find out if the cancer was invasive or has spread. About 2-3weeks. Wish it was over.

    Recent Diagnosis

    Hello

I have recently been diagnosed with 2 brain tumours, one of which is a stage 2 Glioma, and I am waiting to start treatment. This is the first time I can honestly say I have been ill, and it has to be something as devastating as it is.

I actually had a seizure back in May which was in the middle of the night, and if one of my Leonberger dogs hadn't woke my husband up I may not even be here.

I suppose everyone says this but why me?

My husband is finding it hard to deal with...

    CATHETER OUT TOMORROW

My catheter is coming out tomorrow. I've been passing tiny clots for the last few days which is pretty painful but not excruciating. I have painkillers. I'm wondering about leakage so I've packed Tena Lady in my handbag. Now it's coming out I feel this phase is over. I don't know what the next phase will be. I won't get my results for a few weeks and am trying to stay positive. Things have gone pretty well so far but I don't know if that means anything. I guess it's fingers crossed and keep occupied...

Home, cake, cars and cancer stuff

    Hi all.

I am currently surrounded by noise.  Twin related play noise.  So it is good but I wish they would quieten a little, I'm trying to listen about the slow loris' on the telly.

I have a spare five minutes so I thought I would do a quick blog, about life back home.  Life not in the hospital.

Hospital's have a timetable which you have to fit into.  Breakfast at around 7am followed by first pill run, Lunch around 1pm followed again by tablet run then tea/dinner and yet another tablet run...

LIFE IS WHAT WE MAKE IT

I can't wait for the catheter to come out on Monday. I have lost a few more tiny clots but my urine is clear. I feel I have been very lucky as far as pain goes. I sailed through the BCG, kept it in for the required time and my urine ran clear after the liquid was let out. My theatre nurse said most people can't hold it in for the full time and he'd never seen such clear urine after the op. I thank God for this and pray my results are just as good. My perspective has changed. I look to the future...

WHEN DOES THE CATHETER COME OUT?

Three days since the op. Pee still clear and little pain. The inactivity is a bummer and I can't wait to get the catheter out. All in all I have been very lucky so far, thank God. I have no appointment yet for the removal. If they don't phone today I shall have to ring them. I have an extra bag but not sure when or how to change it. Also I have to get up in the night to empty my night bag and it's full again in the morning. Is this normal?

Hearing the words 'you've got cancer'

I was first diagnosed with skin cancer , Melanoma , 6 years ago following a battle with my GP to actually get an appointment with the relevant department at my local hospital.

Anyway following a biopsy and upon hearing the words ' you've got cancer ' my life changed but on reflection 6 years later, not for the worse. I've always had a optimistic outlook , I'm not religious and I don't believe in fate. So after the initial shock of feeling the fear of not seeing my daughters , wife , family and friends...

    FIRST OUTING SINCE TURBT

Hi all. I went for a short walk today to the local shop. Feeling very well so I'm having to remind myself not to do too much. Two days since turbt and no pain or blood so far. I feel lucky to be so well. Positive vibes for all awaiting news or treatment and to those recovering. Have a nice day everyone.
