Just over four weeks since my operation, a trip to the hospital for a stoma nurse appointment today. First time I've been away from home. I took everything with me, including a change of clothes, but none was needed. I forgot to empty after the first bus so I was pretty full after the second bus. I did the last of my stomach injections last night. Yippee! It's been difficult, self-injecting, because I have a bit of a needle phobia; however, I found it not too bad doing it myself. The needles we're superfine and the disposable syringe mechanism meant that once the plunger was fully depressed the needle popped out on it's own. The needle withdrawal was always the worst part for me but no problem with these syringes…
Weird dream last night. I dreamt my night bag tube disconnected from the day bag in bed. For some reason I had to hold the day bag stopper in my mouth while searching for the tube. I got it sorted in the dream but the thing was that I didn't panic. I was a bit confused when I woke up but glad to find it was a dream.

A rotten day so far. I woke up at quarter to four. I'm in pain, not the op thank goodness, but painful. The operation uses a piece of intestine to make the conduit for the urine from kidney straight to stoma and into the bag. Your innards then go into a sort of sulk. They are bruised and become sluggish, not wanting to work. The first ten days were constipated, then I had a few days of the runs and now I am back to sluggish…
