Post 559: One day’s rather like another.
With the clock ticking the same as yesterday it was another day that doesn’t seem to matter in the big scheme of life, nothing happened for good or bad, but I’d say that’s not so bad.
My appetite is still amazing because the last weight check on Monday, three days back, I was 12 stone 9lbs which is the heaviest I’ve ever been.
Sitting in one chair all day everyday except Mondays trip to the Hospice, I’m not using many calories up with my sloth-like moments during the day, but I can’t exercise due to the pain I’d be in during and after the session whatever it was. Also my belly rumbles without much action so constipation is a constant issue which can be sorted by the usual powders.
What a life.
At least my Darling’s picking up a little. She still stays in bed most of the morning before she comes down to see me sitting in my chair reading subtitles and laughing here and there.
My back pain is nearly all gone, which could well be the pills and I haven’t taken any Oramorph for the best part of a week. All good for me actually.
The problem is when I sneeze, breathe deeply or stand or sit back down because the pain in my sides has worsened.
It’s not that I’m in big pain now it’s that my sedentary life is causing my mood to be low during the days I’m at home in the sloth-home, because if I’m out I’m well able to see the brighter side of life.
It’s just the difference between many other human interactions outside the sloth-home.
This will not change so I’m going to have to eat less and do more cranial exercise or I’ll vegetate both mentally or physically in my comfy chair.
The expectation of having two weeks off annual leave is the real killer and to have one of us ill on top of that is really unlucky. My Darling wants to go out as much as me, and we will, but only when she’s feeling stronger. It might be today. Let’s hope so.
If you’re brave I’ve written a poemy-thing for your delight ha ha.
Take care xx
I’m stuck in bed
By Mr Unremarkable
Only the sea Gulls are cawing today
The temperatures down, no kids at play
All of the climbers are orange and red
Fungi are popping and I’m stuck in bed
——
Why am I feeling so down in the dumps
I felt happy on Monday, Thursday I slumped
A bit like the roses they’ve all lost their heads
Fungi are popping and I’m stuck in bed
——-
My life was mapped out with aging in mind
Love in my warm hand all of the time
We’ll always be together that’s what we said
Fungi are popping and I’m stuck in bed
——
Incurable’s a word that I often hear
It’s not easy to swallow unlike a cool beer
I’m full of drugs that might help my head
Fungi are popping and I’m stuck in bed
