    This time last year…..
Gosh, where has the time gone? A year ago I had just finished the dreaded chemo and was psyching myself up for surgery. Now, a year on, between chemo fog and menopause brain (or perhaps just good old age forgetfulness) I can hardly remember the ...

    The Cancer has progressed....
Finally, a couple of days after the previous update, M found he could no longer swallow anything - liquid or solid. We called the emergency oncology line but their dept was already full so they suggested we should report to A&E. This was a distre...

    I’m running up that hill
Today, 7 of my best girls completed the 10k Newcastle Race For Life. We had planned to all complete the race together and raise some cash for this amazing cause that desperately needs funding. I obviously cheered them on from my hospital bed with a c...

I can’t feel my face when I’m with you

    4th July 2022 ... A trip to the Hospital. -updated - Again

It's been a while since I wrote in the blog, mainly because things continued smoothly and there were no real updates to give.

We received good news from the oncologist in June, in so much as she confirmed that she is still happy with the developments, all scans were good, bloods great, no issues what-so-ever.

Asked maybe if we wanted to go on holiday, have a break from the treatment if Dal felt that he could do that and so we have booked a little camping trip :) yes we got the camping bug after...

    Waiting for an eternity....
We are still awaiting the results of the CT scan. Meanwhile, M's temperature spiked again and as it was a Sunday evening, we were told to go immediately to A & E. Once again the anti-sepsis treatment was administered by very slow drip and I e...

I had a lumpectomy 7 weeks ago and the the bruise by the lymph node incision is still there. over 3 cm long and 1cm wide. Should I be concerned? How long does it take for a bruise to disappear? Has anybody got any experience and sought medical advice...

Chemotherapy Second Time Round – the second 6
For the second round of 6, the side effects have been getting progressively worse, so much so that for the final 2 rounds I was given 50% of the panitumumab antibody drug to try and reduce the side effects (which unfortunately it didn’t do). Th...
