Unsure how to get started? Take a look at our help pages on blogs.
Today I mostly ate cupcakes. For charity of course :))
Went and had Boob Tube flushed. Kay the nurse managed to get some blood out of it today but only by me standing up, taking deep breaths, then coughing then swinging my arm around. Which was needed after those cupcakes I expect. Saw Gwen the non-stop talking lady there (did I not mention her last week??) who told me all about her sandwiches from Waitrose. :)
Got home to my bathroom taps having been fixed by Ian Glanusk Fixing Man. And my mum...
Ok going to try and get a blog of last few days to let everyone know how it is going in Bunland.
Well I went to see the 'Nice man' at the hospital on Monday and he was a nice man. He was reassuring - saying he saw lots of ladies with similar issues to mine and that my age and size - he called me slim - i love him lol - suggests that it is unlikely to be cancer. However, I had to have biopsy.
This is not for the squeamish - if you are a lady and have had to go every three years for the usual...
I'm a little concerned about the amount of rest Mo's been having over the last 2-3 days. Its very hard to gauge whether Mo's tired because she's done too much the day before or if the cancer is spreading or she's just physically/mentally tired because of the medication she's on.Mo's mobility or lack of it is another concern of mine, the same questions also apply in the same way as her resting concerns.Hopefully the symptom management clinic may answer some of those questions,as far as i know she is...
Mo got up about 9.00 for breakfast again today as she has been doing for a while now, getting up for breakfast that is,not 9'o'clock.The times vary from day to day sometimes its later sometimes earlier but mo gets up everyday.Cereal today, usually its either cereal or porridge, the occasional piece of toast.Mo likes porridge better, even more so since she left Hurstwood Park over a month ago,'Wheres the bloody time gone?'26th August it was and three weeks ago when Mo was admitted to The Conquest re:the...
We had the social services financial assessment visit today. It wasn't as bad as I thought they come around to check you are getting all the right benefits, the right amount of money or entitled to higher rates of benefit and see if you can help pay for the care services that may be supplied by the local authority or not. After the assessor had eventually made sure everything tallied up and worked out what we actually got & for what and checked if we had any savings over £23.000,unlikely.If we had then...
Today the 1 year anniversary of the centre I manage was celebrated by raising funds for Breast Cancer and Jeans for Genes and I planned it before the chemo started or had a diagnosis so all I could do was ''direct'' really, and everyone did me proud and there were fabulous home made cakes and teas n coffees - and despite the drizzle , in 3 hours we raised £170!! :))
Despite trying not to do much I was on my feet a while and my back is telling me off but we all enjoyed...
well, we manage to escape to the Loire Valley in the motorhome for two weeks. Had treatment on Tuesday, went in my birthday balloon trip wednesday morning and caught the eurotunnel friday night. We went down to the Loire Valley and did chateaus and gardens and finished with Monet's garden at Giverny, which was on my 'things still to do' list. Brilliant
We came home Saturday evening ready for another treatment. The oncologist had the results of the Ct scan I had before the last treatment...
We will not be beaten - if we can't find eachother on warped or anywhere, we can use the comments boxes below to say hi and meet ok?
I was going to do a new blog post for this but it wouldn't let me so you can either read the silly below or skip to the bottom and just use it as a temporary warped or chat place until we can find a way to meet somewhere.. How does that sound?
I hate not being able to see how you all are, and a Little My never gives up (usually) so onwards and upwards. Big...
Dear all, My name is Charne and I joined the Macmillan community a couple of months ago to look for support as a survivor and a carer. I am currently studying in Leeds university, however my home is in Switzerland.
Both my partners treatment and mine took place here. As the summer holidays began, any student has so much excitement to do nothing for 4 months but party, have fun and go out..upon my return in Switzerland my partner was complaining of striking headaches at work and eventually...
Hi everyone
I have recently finished taking Tamoxifen for 5 years and was wondering how others in the same position as myself have been feeling. I am only 40 so i still have not ventured into the menopause although the Tamoxifen did stop my periods for the 5 years (bliss) but now they have started again and my hormones are going crazy!!! I have been suffering from extreme anxiety and panic. After going though all of the treatment and handling it pretty well, I am now feeling the after shocks!!!...
