    Starting Back Up With Interferon

After 2 weeks off of interferon self-injections, I'm starting back up later tonight.  Definitely not looking forward to it! I still haven't braved doing it myself so a nurse comes around 8:00 and then I'll feel crappy from about 9 until tomorrow afternoon.  And my doctor  told me the side effects will probably be bad tonight since my body will need to get used to the drug again.  Chills, fever, nausea, back pain, panic attacks, restlessness, exhaustion and insomnia (how I can be exhausted...

    Mums funeral
My mum fought for two years she was diagnosed with lung cancer, non smokers lung cancer which spread to the brain and bone. She was my best friend. My sister and I fought every step of the way with her. She died 30th December 2012 and since then I have been in complete denial and on auto pilot. Is that normal? Her funeral is 14 January. My sister is going to see her in the chapel of rest but I don't think i can. My husband is going to go for me and read her a letter from me and leave it in her coffin...

    Goodbye 2012 and hello 2013.

I'm so glad to be alive, and its 2013!

2012 was a year of such extremes highs and lows.  I loved the Olympics and paras, saw my youngest turn 21.  hated the weather, semi liked my holidays this year, and fell to an all time low when my dear mum died in September, did a lot of comfort eating and am now 2 stone overweight.     Time to pick myself up, dust myself off and make the most of the wonderful life that God has given me.  No more sitting around and moping or feeling sorry for myself.  Its 2013...

  • Life without Hubby - Missing Him
    One year and a bit

Well in some ways the year seems to have flown past, in others not so much. I miss having David around to back me up with the children and as a consequence they push me to my limits and sometimes beyond.

Last New Years eve I tripped while cleaning the stairs after one of my son's was sick, and tore the legiment in my left thumb, I had to have an operation - fortunatly day surgery. But this meant I was reliant on my parents for support with the kids for 48 hours as I didn't have a partner to help...

  • Dad's Bowel Cancer Story
    Christmas 2012 update

Dad went for his Endoscope thing up his backside.

Had an appointment with a consultant, who said about having an operation to remove.

We had a reasonable Christmas and New Year, making the most to be together.

Yesterday Dad got a call from the hospital to come up to A&E, as they wanted to see him. He thought it a bit strange, but tropsed up to the hospital all the same with my mum in tow. However when they got there no-one seemed to be expecting them, one nurse said to my dad not to worry it...

    Lets get this straight

ironic given my blog name... but someone sent this to me and I like it enough to share.... for all of us for whom positivity has gone feral.

    Let's Get This Straight

    It's not "being positive"

    that gets you through. No,

it's something grittier - sharp, capable of hurt:

it would have you grabbing the very last crumb

from under your best friend's nose,

it's savage, stubborn, it's made of steel -

if you were in business the whole world

    would hate your guts...

  • Bummer....!
    So, Hilary this is goodbye....

    Dear All,

I am so sorry to tell you all that Hilary died this morning.

      This is what Judy wrote...

I regret to have to announce that Hilary died in her sleep this morning around 7 am. She died in the knowledge that she was much loved and still thinking more about her friends and family than herself. She was the best friend a girl could have, and I can’t begin to tell you how much I will miss her.

I shall miss her so very much. I shall direct Judy to this blog if any of you want to leave...
