One of the best things about my love of music is all the friends I have made through this shared interest. I made a new friend earlier this year and I was telling them about my music blog. My friend asked to be added to my mailing list and often sends comments about the entries. Recently they asked very nicely if they could be in the blog. I pointed out that they already had been, several posts back, when I mentioned they recommended some music for me.
They said they hadn’t recognised themselves...
Had a good day today , i thought it may be my last for a while but i like to keep an open mind.
I was in Asda this morning (sun) i couldnt help but think , will i be here next sunday?
Next weekend ill be pump free and one week of RT under my belt.
The card i got from the hospital detailing when they should be contacted, gave me some concern
-temp above 38c for one hour
-having shivers;an infection;being sick and not keeping fluids down,
-sore mouth which is painful
-severe diarrhea
-spontaneous...
Day zero has arrived, the nerves are really getting to me now,
Have given the neighbours hospital telephone numbers just in case
My final weekend as i know myself /Will i recognise myself at the end of 5 weeks, i dont know.
I just hope i come out of it as ive gone in to it but cancer free.Am i expecting too much i dont know
Perhaps those that have been through it all can tell me.
Its very hard for me to grasp that i am in this situation .i feel its another person thats going through this...
I was looking forward to turning 50 in July, they say 50 is the new 40. 4 days after my birthday I got a letter to go for my 1st mammogram. Within 3 weeks I had had an ulstrasound, biopsy, WLE and SN removal. People thought I was in denial because this didn't faze me because I had been born with a disability and have had several operations. Went back after 2 weeks expecting to get a start date for my 3 weeks radiotherapy only to be told I need another operation to remove all my lymph nodes as one...
Yesterday was a good day until the evening. Our son came and helped with jobs in the garden that take a lot of lifting and bending. I did the light jobs and the foreman bit. The sun shone and all seemed rosy until our son left. Then my wife had a very severe pain in her right hand that had her crying out and unable to do anything. I had to be her carer for everything, meal, washing, and to bed. We had no idea how to stop her pain but with pills and her favourite drink she finally fell asleep. I found...
My dad was diagnosed yesterday with oesophageal cancer. For a few months now he hasnt been able to eat properly and was having aches and pains in his lower back. He now has headaches aswell as being unable to control his left arm and leg properly. His scans are tomorrow and I can only think of the worst.
You never think this will happen to someone you are so close to. People talk about cancer but you never think it will happen to you. I dont know how to support him. Seeing tears in his eyes and...

Just an update really, mum has had more results from her blood tests certain areas are dangerously high and they don't seem to know whats causing this! She is seeing her consultant on Monday and then in for a MRI scan on her spine. Be put on a week dose of steroids and due to some pain in her back they have increased her morphine.
I have asked to go with her for her consultation this time, hopefully this may help me understand a little bit better on what is actually happening at this moment...
Hi My neighbour who is in her 80's has been diagnosed
with lung cancer. She is waiting for further test results to see if it has
spread. She has been told they can't operate because she isn't well enough to
cope with surgery (and too old??). She has moved in with her sister who is also
very ill with cancer and bone problems. My friend has barely eaten for months
and is now avoiding having people visit and help. I have suggested that they
contact someone to come and help on a daily basis ...
I saw the oncologist today, referred back by my friendly urologist. I'm to stay on both bicalutamide and the injections of decapeptyl (I often get the spelling wrong and so do medical secretaries!). The logic is that the weeds will be attacked from two sides even though the injections were insufficient on their own.
PSA was up when tested last week, hope it comes down again just as fast. The oncologist agreed with his colleague that I should have a dose of RT to the weed that caused my fracture...
