I saw the oncologist today, referred back by my friendly urologist. I'm to stay on both bicalutamide and the injections of decapeptyl (I often get the spelling wrong and so do medical secretaries!). The logic is that the weeds will be attacked from two sides even though the injections were insufficient on their own.
PSA was up when tested last week, hope it comes down again just as fast. The oncologist agreed with his colleague that I should have a dose of RT to the weed that caused my fracture 8 days ago. That will be arranged soon he said. Long-term he explained that if/when my present anti-hormone treatment fails to control the process then there are others that can be used before going to the powerful chemo.
Feeling much better today with less pain and able to walk much better. Still painful to sit on most chairs including the driving seat of the car. I couldn't drive for more than an hour at the most; even 20 miles is uncomfortable. The bic seems to have worked its magic again. May it last.
I'm to have a CT scan at the start of November to see if there has been any significant weed spread to other parts of me. Will blog on this when I know the results.
