    My life ......today
I've always been an optimistic person but thats with a heavy dose of relying on my Heavenly Father and my faith. We are always faced with challenges, daily, hourly and in a split second it can change. The mood, the ideas, goals that have been set previously, flood the mind today, i struggle as a spouse of a cancer patient. It started as throat cancer and has now spread out throughout his body. Im sure u know the feeling, going through but not being the one going through it is just as draining...

    Consultants forget the Patients
As I mentioned previously mum was told by the consultant on Friday that they were no longer going to treat her cancer and everything now would be about palletive care. Fine if thats how it has to be, but the consultants seem to forget they may deal with 100's of patients suffering from this disease a day but my mum and dad have never had to deal with it before. They do not know what is normal, not normal, who they should contact, who they should turn to for the answers. So the consultant packs...

    The start of a journey
Several people have suggested that keeping a diary of what you experience on the cancer treatment journey is a good thing to do.... so I did. I started writing down all my experiences and the thoughts and feelings that went along with them. Then my hard drive crashed and I lost the lot! (My fault for not running regular enough backups but I have forgiven myself as I have had other things on my mind recently!). So.. I have now decided to do it as a blog here. Who knows... perhaps someone other...

    Can't Sleep
I am struggling to get to sleep again. This happened when I first found out about mum, but eased off during her chemo as I had allowed myself to believe that it would prolong my mum's life so much that there was no need to get so upset! Now the treatment has stopped I'm back to facing reality of that my mum is dying and possibly quite soon. I toss thinking about all the things I will not be able to do with my mum. No one in this world is as proud of me as my mum is and no one makes me feel as...
