  • Trying to find / create a support group
    Hiya :-)

Hi I am trying to find out any information or create a support group for young adults who are suffering from a secondary cancer of unknown primary.

If anyone has any information / groups which they already attend, please let me know.

Otherwise if you are affected either directly / indirecty to secondary cancer of unknown primary, give me a message. Hopefully we can collate information together in order to create a new support group.

    Here's hoping :-)

  • When my heart began to break
    Scared for tomorrow
My dad was dx with lung cancer last Tuesday and had ct scan last Thursday. Hospital rang yesterday and he is to go in tomorrow and see the doctor who may want to do a bronscopy :( that is all they said. I am so scared that tomorrow we will be told there is nothing they can do that it has spread to far...... My dad is taking it all in his stride or at least acting that way but he is still coughing and gets breatheless and tired :( he is still working and messing around with my daughter but you can...

    Diagnosis

March 2010 - went to the Doctors for Blood Pressure check - mentioned that I wasn't to happy with a Mole on my right leg just above my ankle.  As it was a locum doctor he said that he would refer me to the dermatogist.  Got my appointment through begining of April and they asked me all the usual questions from how long it had been there to when did I notice any changes!!  Was informed that they would remove it and to await an appointment which would be probably in the next 4 weeks.

    Had the mole...

  • When my heart began to break
    Would we know??????
Well a week has whizzed by after my dads lung cancer dx and what a emotional week it's been. The mind is very good at creating haunting thoughts and I find myself playing our what will happen in the next few weeks :( Every day I seem to have new questions, and I know in time they will be answered but for now they rage in my head and invade my mind. Is there a way to know if the cancer has spread? Is it possible it could have spread to other areas without causing symptoms there? Could my...

  • My Life With Cancer
    Why I started my blog

Ever since diagnosis I have been up and down like a demented jack in the box.  I told  myself I would keep a diary so that I could keep a check on any new symptoms, when they started, if they were relevant or just a product of my fear.  I've sat down at the desk with a notebook and pen ready to start many times then felt either silly at writing stuff down or scared that my family would find, read and either think me mad or be scared to death at the thoughts I have written in my book.

    Perhaps a...

  • Buddhism for Breast Cancer Beings
    Back to the Buddhism

So I went through the slough of despond after chemo 4 as the veins in my left arm packed in and being left handed it was as if my world imploded. So the rest of the chemo was pumped into my right arm and I stayed home fighting the petty miserable side effects willing it all to be over.

Now Im back at school, swimming againand feeling human. I know the radiotherapy is to come but we are near the end! Hooray

  • When my heart began to break
    News today but more confused
Today my dad had a phonecall from the hospital. He has an appointment Thursday afternoon to have a chat with the doctor :-/ and the doctor may want to do a bronshocopy :( I know this is done to get a biopsy. I feel even more on edge now. The fact the doctor MIGHT want to do a bronschopy tells me that they already have enough evidence of the cancer. I also keep thinking of the words LARGE mass and see this a certainty that it is going to be bad.

  • When my heart began to break
    No news
Another day on edge waiting for results, but they didn't come. Spent the afternoon at the hospital trying to get help for my husbands ulcerative colitis, he is and out the toilet 9 times a day and in alot of pain. It was a waste of a afternoon as the doctor did not have results of my husbands previous tests. All the time we were in there I was trying to contact my mum or dad and as I received no reply convinced myself they must have received bad news. It wasn't till we came out the hospital that...
