Where to start... im a 23 year old aussie female. Up until a month ago I was a happy hairdresser, first home buyer and thinking of starting a family. I could feel a big change coming, but I didnt see this.
It started off with finding a painless grape sized lump just above my collar bone. Being a hypochondriac, I freaked and went to the doc asap. Luckily she booked me in for an ultrasound straight away instead of sending me away and just seeing how it goes. Ultrasound showed not just 1 but 4...
My wife, Barbara came home from Hospital on Saturday. She had become very unsettled in Hospital and had started to FaceTime family late at night. She Facetimed her sister in Switzerland to say that she had been abandoned in a cafe. She Facetimed several members of our family including our son and daughter and myself. She often spoken in conspiratorial whispers to say that half her stuff had gone missing; that we wouldn't belief what was happen and and that staff were hitting her. This was all part...
... the sarcoma in my right buttock was removed on 20th Jan - went in on the Weds came out on the Friday. All went well - I came home with 'a drain' and am going back this Thursday to have the'drain', the clips and the dressing removed - looking forward to that - hopefully I will be more comfortable.
I had to have 2 teeth out last week - if it's not one end it's the other !!!!!!!
I am so lucky to have such a supportive husband - I feel so guilty putting him all through this...
So since I completed treatment in December things have been all go. Christmas and birthdays followed by the new year, and got married just over a week ago, followed by a lovely mini moon.
I had spent most of January feeling like I was really struggling to have that get up and go energy level, everything needed careful consideration to make sure I was doing it with minimal energy exertion (although those that know me will say I always find the laziest/most efficient way of doing something)...
Brian,
I am tormented by the last day of your life. I don't like to remember it and keep trying to override my mind when it recalls the memory. I cant bear that you were so young and your otherwise healthy body just stopped working. I cant accept I will never touch your face, hold your hand or hear your voice ever again.
You are very much here to me - your personality and everything that was you is alive in my memory. This is the most painful experience of my entire life.
When you were diagnosed...
Long time no speak...
We have been very busy moving into the new house, our last home together.
It is taking its toll on us, we are both very tired and feel like we are walking through syrup, but gradually each day we get a little bit more done. Thankfully we have a whole month to do it in, I think back to the many house moves we have made in the past and how we would do it all in a matter of a weekend. That would not be possible now, my mobility and stamina just does not allow. On the other hand...
Thank you for reading my blog. I've done this as there is so little information out there about BCC written by someone who's been through it. I've searched what feels like the entire internet but the information is mainly by healthcare professionals (very useful info). I really needed to read about this condition from someone who'd had dealt with it personally.
I'm a Pharmacy person. And i work in the NHS. I've looked at many lesions over the years and i always suggested...
Carer: someone who provides unpaid support to a family member or friend who would not be able to manage without this help.
It’s a definition at the core of my working day. As the Carers Support Project Officer at Macmillan Cancer Support my 9 to 5 is spent working with a large variety of people to increase the identification and support of cancer carers. But do I identify with the term myself?
On 2nd February 2011 my family were dealt the heartbreaking news that my dad, in the prime of his life...
I'm feeling very alone at the moment, my mum has stage 4, grade 3 cancer, she got diagnosed last March, at stage 1b, we were convinced it would be cured. It's spread and spread and it's not. It's been going on for almost a year and how long can I put my stress on my friends and family? She's been prescribed morphine today due to the pain, she was told she had months to live 2 months ago. I feel I have nobody I can talk to anymore even tho I have so much support, where can I turn to? X ...
