Post 526: Sisters and Bruver visit and we laugh.
So the air this morning was filled with spicy bathroom shower smells while I lounged on in bed, awake and happy to be lazy for now. In a while I needed a shower myself but that could wait, I was in the middle of the Kdrama I was enthralled with. Ha ha, very important.
My Darling was unusually fast today at getting up and out of bed and that was because our ‘favourite’ godchild who now lives in Australia is, Having a Baby in four weeks, and four weeks before our youngest’s baby. Oh what fun.
I had dillid and dallied enough and the said godchild was waiting in the wings ready for our check -up call, so I rolled out of bed and straight into the warm shower cubicle, steamed up in places and as I stepped in I thought I could hear distant chattering. Oops!
That must be Fi from across the world and she was early; or I was late, anyhow, I needed to step on the gas if I was to join in on this happy call.
I didn’t drag my heels in getting showered and now I smelt like an Old Spice advert.
I didn’t bother with anything but two towels to wrap around me as I joined the video call downstairs, to the dismay of my Darling; but not Fi, she thought it funny.
We are so solidly behind our little god-baby-incubator and know the stress, money and time it’s taken to get this miracle child. IVF is torture until you have succeed in the quest for a perfect pregnancy, and that is eventually what happened here thank God.
We chatted at full speed about the baby, work and what she’s going to do with the month she’s awaiting the birth away from the daily grind.
She’s going to relax and enjoy the last few weeks of freedom.
In her home was her younger brother and my God-child Jack and he’s usually very committed to saying bugger all but this morning, while he waits for the take-out to arrive he chatted away about how he hasn’t any sponsorship to stay in southern Aussie and needs to be out the country by 9th October. This said, he was not bothered; he had a few years there and was now ready to tour around Bali, Thailand and other countries he wants to visit, by himself, before he gets home to Ireland.
But his long term plan is to get over to Canada and more education so he’s more easily able to secure sponsorship back in Aussie with better qualifications, sometime in the future.
Oh the confidence and what opportunities youngsters have today. Good luck to him.
We were given back to Fi when Jacks food arrived and after a little while we said our goodbyes to everyone and left her to rest up this evening (over there).
Back in England, I was changed and ready for dropping my darling to Slimming World for 11am, and the long and short of that (before I move on) is that she’s at the bottom of her weight limit still and struggling to keep it within it so has decided with help from the meeting chief that her goal will be lowered slightly to 9stone which makes (if and when she makes it) to a total of 3stone loss. Wow!
I really can’t believe how she looks and how she’s loving the loss of weight and what it does for her confidence and health. A-maze-ing (as that ‘Strictly’ judge always says), a-maze-ing!
Enough said.
When she got home later her 1.5lb weight loss this week made her slimmer of the week and, she won the raffle too. So there’s extra fruit and brown rice this week along with more certificates for the side of the fridge.
We’ll need a larger fridge if these awards keep coming. Ha ha.
My weight is increasing still and I’m 12st 3lb now. I feel fat and uncomfortable and wonder if the bagel nerve isn’t responsible for some of the AFib hokey-cokey.
Thanks for your feedback about the jabs, I’d forgotten about the couple of day ms being off colour. I’m don’t usually suffer but it’s something to watch out for.
After doing some shopping and getting flowers for both my Darling and my Big Sis I headed home with my sore back and shoulder. I couldn’t get a blue-badge parking space and settled for a normal one even though I went around the town twice in and out of two carparks, but the problem is always the same. My impatience for any car parking space led me to insure my back more as I squeezed out of the door, and back in later. It’s this incomprehensible attitude that gives me more pain and my Darling and I having to put up with the extra pain for a few days. Stupid, stupid me.
It wasn’t long before Big Sis arrived with colourful Dahlias (one of which lost its head, see photo) and we had lunch in the kitchen and put the world to rights. My back was giving me gip and consequently we swapped the seats to the lounge.
We had , or rather I had been talking about Vals love of the Traitors game show last night. I then thought it would be a good idea if we sat and watched it while we chatted more in the comfier surroundings. I also had brought my phone and the Welsh cakes that sis had brought back from her holiday to South Wales. The cakes were absolutely beautiful and had a smattering of cinnamon within them. Beautiful.
The phone…
Yes, I had the phone with me because earlier I had rung up the surgery to book an appointment with a doctor to explain my blood test for Digexion.
I was 7th in the queue and chose to press 2 if you want a call back from the queue, to save me going bonkers with that dreadful musak.
Half an hour later I got the news that I didn’t want to hear… I had to get triaged online as she couldn’t help. OMG the bloody stupid systems we have to put up with…
After triage online it was another hour before I had a call back and believe it or not a doctor was on the end of the phone line, yippee.
The only snag was, they hadn’t any reply about Digexion yet from cardiology. As usual they are dragging their feet.
It was a shock to the doctor that I wasn’t on the cardiologists books, which would speed up a responce and I could then get on with my life.
But, she did read my notes and agreed in what I suggested which was that I would monitor my pulse after starting back on the pills and report back if the pulse reduces any more.
She liked the plan and is trusting me to do as I say. Meanwhile we await the advice from the cardiologists about whether I should come off the Bisoprolol altogether and back on Sotalol. But that’s for another day.
So that was a big fat waste of time.
We, Big Sis and I continued to watch the Traitors first show and giggle along with the content. 9 shows more and we will know which ‘celebrity’ wins a fortune for their chosen charity.
My darling arrived soon after and the conversation changed to matters girlie as we migrated back to the kitchen, to hear about my Darlings day, see above for details, ha ha.
Another call came in and my Brother and Sister-in -law would visit this evening.
Big Sis left with a box of stöllen slices and the pink Lilly’s I’d bought earlier, I then had cod and beans for supper before Little Bro arrived, and the conversation was bikes, food and silliness.
We, all four, sat and drank tea and caught up on the activities of their two kids (19 & 17 years old) the younger one at college and the elder is self employed working as an animal minder as much as anything.
So that was that and the Welsh cakes were gone as was our guests and my Darling could get to bed. Good night.
The AFib lasted 14 hrs but is now gone. I hope the Digexion will stop these blinking AFib attacks, I’m tired of them.
Tomorrow there’s a ‘Last Bike Meet-up at the Harbour’ which I’d like to go to.
I’m still not able to pinpoint the reasons for Jo the counsellor on Monday. I know I’ll spew out whatever it is that’s on my mind but I don’t want to waste her time.
Good night all. Take care.
