    My Lovely Wife Julie 6

Saturday morning and there were clumps of hair on the pillow so I did what any caring Husband would do and got my trimmer out and gave Julie a Number 1.  The trimmer in one hand and the Hoover in the other - just the thing for a lazy morning in bed.

I wish I looked as good as her with no hair..........lol

Sunday was a good day.  Julies mum was 80 so we booked a table at a local eatery for 20 and had a big family get together.  Julie was OK but the time spent in the dining chair had to be compensated...

    Beginning the Fight Again

Well, I thought this blog would be a great place for me to explore my emotions by writing about my second journey with cancer.  I'm hoping that it will help motivate me prepare for surgery and do all the things that make me happy in life: playing and listening to music, cooking, gardening, reading, being with my new partner, and enjoying my friendships.

I was diagnosed with breast cancer (type unconfirmed) on Wednesday the 9th of February.  I had a mammogram, ultrasound and core biopsy the week...

Reeling at the moment, alot to take in..

    Tues 22.2.11

Well, this wasn't how I thought things were going to go, given the fact that up till last Wednesday consultants were telling me they didn't think anything was wrong. Last Wednesday morning I spoke to a gynae consultant about my abdominal pain and bloating and he said he would do a laparoscopy if i was so worried but he didn't think he would find anything significant i my 4cm ovarian cyst was perfectly normal for a woman of my age. He said i may just have to learn to live with whatever...

    Predator - poem
    Predator

The dreaded C word everyone fears
Laying in wait, like a preying tiger
Anticipating the perfect moment to pounce
It has you sight, you have no escape
    Fear, shock, disbelief take over
A wave of emotions crash down on you
Further and further you sink, down and down
*THUD* that’s the sounds of rock bottom

The tiger is strong, BOLD, and mean
Ready to begin the chase, the game
You are the prey and it wants you
Run, quick, you have to play the game
    A lowly animal against...

    PHEW!

    Hi all,

It has been a bit of a nervous wait for my consultant appointment. Although I try to stay positive i wasn't too sure if the recent lot of chemo had made a real difference. However, I am glad to say that the cancer has been greatly reduced, it does not affect any organs and the CA125 is 19. PHEW!  I am feeling well and do not need any more treatment at present but I will have a checkup and blood test every two months. My consultant had already told me that they are looking to control...

    Kidney Cancer - D-Day +13

Hi all -  time for an 'emotions' update.  Weeks ago, before my diagnosis, a colleague of my partner invited us to a Mexican themed get-together at her house.  I had even bought a 'chilli pepper' outfit for the event (everyone else went as a Mexican Bandit).  Come Saturday, the day of the event, I was completely torn about whether or not to turn up.   I half wanted to go because it was a chance to forget everything, and yet I knew that there would obviously be questions which might ultimately...
