Well its been a few weeks now since Mum passed away. I miss her like crazy . The evenings are the worst I miss the little chats and putting the world to rights . We would have a little giggle . Only a few weeks until I take her back to Australia and put her to rest with her mum and dad as promised .
I keep being told it will get easier ,but I am not so sure .. maybe I will learn to live with it but right now it tough .. too tough . I would do anything to have her back .. nagging me
All I can say...
Hi everyone, it's been a long while since I updated my blog, so long in fact that I couldn't figure out how to add to my old one so have made a new one, hope this works :)
I have been to hospital this week for my review and have got the all clear again and have been changed to 6 month reviews, so happy and am feeling good.
The only thing that I still have is night sweats, but the chemo put me in to menopause and night sweats can be a symptom of that too. This is both reassuring and worrying...
The Hooken landslide, East Devon
It's one of those peculiar syndromes that you can you live near a place for years, and never get around to visiting it. We'd seen pictures of the Hooken landslide in East Devon Coast and Country magazine a while back, but never gone to see it. Yesterday promised good weather, so Irene and I took a day out.
We took the infrequent local bus to Branscombe and had lunch at Branscombe Mouth, a popular visitors' spot on the coast. From there a path goes eastward...
Slowly emerging from Zombieland. Why is everything so exhausting? AND I can't seem to get comfortable to sleep. Not so good.
Still, today I feel almost normal, I can concentrate on typing this, so that's a good thing. Still don't think I'll drive today, so will miss out on a nice picknick with friends, but they'll understand. It looks like the chemo demands a week out of life.
Here's a question: what to do about the horrid taste in my mouth? I am drinking lots and while I...
I went into town today with my husband, not so strange you might think, but after looking into the windows of a few familiar shop windows we decided to into a pleasant looking pub we had drunk in before. My husband always has a few beers when we go out, I, usually drink coffee or fruit juices. Not today !! I fancied a large glass of wine, infact I had three, now I hardly ever drink. We decided to get up and part company, I decided to go on a charity shop hunt and husband was going on a hunt for gadgets...
just got back from my fifth and penultimate chemo. i suffered horrendously after the last one and the doc couldnt say it wont happen this time but i now own a small pharmacy with detailed instructions for all the 'if this happens..' scenarios.
was booked in at 9.15 and as i had bloodtest tues the chemo was signed off hold so it would be all go go go.... actually it was all no no no. the herceptin had been held up so 2 hours late off we go go go.
my portacath wouldnt bleed and as i am on...
Hello,
So second post, its been a while since my last one. They've stopped all chemo treatment with mum and we know we don't have long. She's in hospital and I guess the realisation that this is going to be slow and painful is a tough one to bear. You prepare and try and prevent the final outcome and in the end it doesn't just happen as you expected. Its all been very emotional but I haven't really been doing anything just sitting around. As a result I have a lot pent up energy and frustration that...

Hi
I have lung mets speckled on both lungs from bowel cancer, I have just finished 12 sessions of chemo and the mets are the same so am having a 3 month break.
I am interested to see if you know much about having the mets lasered, I know there is a dr in London who uses a fairly new machine to do this. Do you know many people who have had...
Getting a macmillan nurse, joining websites that help, seeing a therapist that specialises in Cancer.
Choosing your own hospital one thats best for your care package. Joining a singing group, dance group knitting group. somewhere to giggle inbetween the tears.
Please bear with me people - - this "Blog" thing is totally alien to me, but I have been writing a "Diary" of my experience with Chemotherapy, and sending it to everybody I know on the Internet. I thought I might also share it with Macmillan.
My intention - - to spread the word that Cancer and Chemo are not to be taken lightly, and talking about it is better than keeping quiet about it.
I had been sailing in the Merchant Navy for over 40 years, and knew absolutely NOTHING about...
