Good news today - my double vision (and MS relapse and nothing to do with RT) seems to have corrected itself. I have left the prisms on my specs and started wearing my old pair so I can ensure the correction is a permanent feature, because often my MS does this and then slips again before correcting.
In terms of my treatment .... I am trying to sleep after treatment each day and the fatigue has been a little better these past two days. Due to my concerns about constipation, I haven't re-introduced...
Things have not changed significantly in the past month, hence the title.
I can walk reasonably far but I still get tired. My legs still do not feel as though they are fully under my control and they are weaker than they used to be. The mets are still there in my pelvis but are quiet at the moment as my PSA had fallen to 3 at the last count. I know it should be lower on treatment. Back in 2011 having been diagnosed with a mesothelioma cancer on my chest, I had 3 ribs removed and replaced with titanium (aren't i lucky ) Along with that a titanium chest plate was fitted to make me even more valuable.
I was told that having thrown it all away that was that and to get on with life. (as if )
But after visiting my consultant recently i was told that I was doing quite well as these things often return.
...Following my second routine smear test at the end of March, I received my results in the first week of April which confirmed that I have high-grade dyskaryosis. An appointment has been made for in 4-weeks time at which point I will have a Colposcopy.
Even though the letter from the trust was informative and detailed, including leaflets on colposcopy, treatment and what to expect, I do feel very nervous and worried about the procedure and future results.
I hope that the next few weeks pass quickly...
When I was diagnosed with breast cancer, my work knew. Two weeks later, one of the colleague was diagnosed with esophagus??? in his food tube which was 7 cm. He was so upset and wonder why???? He told me that he was not drink any alcohol, did not eat meat, did not smoke...he was so down. I remembered his sad face.
We were talking about medications, treatment and all sort e.g. his background even we did not know each other before. Cut the story short,, he died last Sunday and his funeral was on Thursday...
Now my mum is a widow, the other day she said to me "I should have supported you more, I didn't realise what you were going through".
Only now that she has lost her husband, does she understand the emotional anguish that I had to deal with while maintaining routines and supporting my children through the loss of their father.

I went up to The Christie on Thursday for my 3-weekly review (no Mytomycin this time). My friend from York met me at the station and we grabbed a nice lunch and a quick tour of the art gallery, as we usually do, before going to the hospital.
