Good news today - my double vision (and MS relapse and nothing to do with RT) seems to have corrected itself. I have left the prisms on my specs and started wearing my old pair so I can ensure the correction is a permanent feature, because often my MS does this and then slips again before correcting.
In terms of my treatment .... I am trying to sleep after treatment each day and the fatigue has been a little better these past two days. Due to my concerns about constipation, I haven't re-introduced Solpadol or Oramorph apart from 1 x 5ml Oramorph last night and 2 x Solpadol tabs tonight. Already though I can feel all the fluid being sucked from my body and I know the constipation is starting again. The consultant wasn't keen to prescribe a synthetic alternative and so I am going to have to trial the frequency of Movicol to try and find a balance.
My skin was examined and the crease behind my ear has split. I wasn't yet offered anything apart from conflicting advice (the radiographer who treated me talking generally said to not use E45 on split skin and instead Nu-Gel .... the Macmillan nurse said no No-Gel .... the consultant said not to use Nu-Gel. So I need to see what to use .... a post I made earlier got a response suggesting Polymem dressings might help. I will follow this up.
The inside of my mouth remains sore on the treatment side, but I am still managing to eat.
At clinic earlier today the dietitian said how well I am doing - but on a positive note for me, I had lost 1kg! Definitely not in the danger zone of needing assistance with feeding, or a mask-refitting.
The only other side effect that I haven't yet mentioned is feeling the cold. Last night I put on a fleece and wrapped up in a blanket to feel a normal temperature ... this, I think, is a typical side effect.
So, having just drunk 2 x Movicols, and with the requirement for my entire mouth-cleaning routine I am about to head off to bed. Just the split skin issue to think about tonight.
