How Do You Mentally Get Past Chemo?
I am new to the site but have been undergoing chemotherapy for five months now. For the most part, up until now, I have done well in staying focused on powering through the treatments and continue a pretty regular schedule. I am getting increasingly physically fatigued, which I had expected, but the mentally exhaustion seems to baffle me. I have weird mood swings and kjust want to cry a lot, and I am far from a cryer. I have always been one of those "rather die then cry" people because I never want...

I'm so lucky but I'm still terrified
I was found to have a tumour on my left kidney last Wednesday more by lock than judgement. thankfully I had been admitted 2 weeks earlier with pneumonia and being a coward when it comes to needles I did not let them do a chest drain so I was sent home and had to wait four a ct scan {coward} as an out patient but that was cancelled So I went back to my GP and sed id have the chest drain if they’d sedate me so she got me re admitted to Hospital thankfully where they did some more tests then admitted...

    Just implants without flaps
Can someone comment on just getting implants alone and no flap surgery or why they chose flap or LD and not just implants?. It seems like most women have flap or LD surgery. Can anyone shed some light on me as to why they did or didn't choose just the implants alone.(I'm repeating myself!) I am going to have a mast next month with recon and trying to decide. Have not met with the recon doc yet. I am small to medium size breasted, but thinking of just going with the implant. I presume expander then...

    Stress Stress Stress!!
Aagghhhhh I have spent ages trying to talk to someone at my local PCT regading the funding for my transplant. Each day I call in the morning, I call again around lunch time and then again in the afternoon. I speak to lots of voice mail boxes and leave lots of messages but no-one has attempted to get in touch. Today I spoke to the health service ombudsman who gave me the details of the chief executive of the PCT and what do you know as soon as I mention his name I get put through to a human. I...

Good bye to my wee maw
My wee maw finally lost her battle today, I have never known a more brave & courageous woman than my mum, she fought a long hard battle, my dad & I have been by my mums side for the last week & a half as she fought to stay with us, she never complained once & was forever apologising to us (can you believe that) it just shows what a truly remarkable woman she was, I will miss her forever & a day. I was honored to be there on her final journey & was with her to the end, I,ve cried a river as nothing...

Robotic prostatectomy and a speedy recovery
My husband had robotic surgery for the removal of his prostate gland. He had early stage prostate cancer (Gleason 6) PSA 5. It's amazing how he has recovered so quickly - back at work part time after 3 weeks! In terms of continence he is pretty much dry now - just the odd leak if he goes too long between loo trips! The surgeon was able to preserve nerves so we're hoping for improvements in erections soon. He goes back to Addenbrookes next week for his 6 week check up. At the time he felt surgery...
