A reason for geting over this hicccup.

Well, another weekend is over, and we are in the week of blood tests and hospital visit to see if the treatment no 3 is ok for next week.  I know this treatment is supposed to be milder doses, and the first week, apart from feeling tired I am ok, but now I start having niggles and to feel that the chemo is wearing off and not doing me a lot of good.  My hair has fallen out(or most of it).  My nurse was supposed to be sorting out my CT scan for after next weeks treatment, but I still haven't had the...

Kidney Cancer - the days after the diagnosis

Hello again.  Back so soon? Well I actually wrote the other blog a few days ago, and posted it today.  But since I wrote that other stuff has happened which I thought was worth sharing with people - and even if nobody is interested, it helps me to write it down. :-)

My first thought on waking every morning is... "I have cancer", and then I touch the left side of my torso and think about this alien presence inside me.  And then I think "Why me?" followed by "It's so unfair!" etc. etc....

    Kidney Cancer - diagnosis story

Diagnosis - I'm a 43 year old female. I was diagnosed with stage 2 kidney cancer 5 days ago.

My story actually begins in November 2010 when I had my gallbladder removed. At my follow up appointment 4 weeks later, I complained that one of the wounds was painful and was booked in for an ultrasound scan for January 2011. The ultrasound showed that nothing was wrong with the wound, probably just scar tissue. About to get up from the bed, the radiologist put his hand on my arm to stop me, and told...

    30 Things For Turning 30 #3

I have just got back from a week in Disneyland paris and all I can say is it was fantastic.  We all had the most amazing time and really didnt want to leave.  I for one am absolutely shattered as we did so much all day everyday.  We have been before but my younger 2 children were only 1 and 2 at the time so they couldnt remember any of it.  It was March 2006 and it is also where my husband proposed to me, in Cindrellas castle.  No surprises this time, just a wanting to return so everyone will remember...

    Uncertain times

Well, it's a few weeks since my husband (61) was diagnosed with prostrate cancer (2 days before Xmas but no time is good for this type of news). The news has been effectively drip fed to us, each visit to the hospital being given worse news. We are trying to come to terms as we all must, but I was wondering if I am the only person who finds the "be positive" message quite annoying? I assume this is down to the shock of the news. Also I have found that some people, on being told of the situation,...

    brain dump

I never expected this to hit me this year.  I need to tell you I'm sorry CK.  Tomorrow it is 2 years since they told you you weren't going to get better.  I remember it so clearly.  I told the counsellor last year that I would try not to dwell on dates this year - not a good start eh?  I need to try harder because it does no good so I thought maybe a blog would give me somewhere to dump the anxiety.  It has to be worth a try.  Everything started to move so fast from tomorrow but there is nothing...
