    another experience over

Well at least the doctor doing the utrasound knew what he was doing today!  I am now convinced that when I had one in Feb (after 48 hours as an inpatient for speed!) that they guy doing it wasn't interested.  My signs and symptons are exactly the same, and he sent me out saying I was wasting  his time, but as it was a new experience for me I couldn't argue.  Today was so different, and the doctors and nurses so considerate while they drained put 6.5 ltrs of liquid from me that I was very relieved...

    Well what a year!

    Hi Guys,

Well it has been a year since this awful disease arrived in my life and i have just found the strength to read through my original blogs and forums from that time.

It has been 5 months 1 week and 5 days since my dad passed away and it feels like years and just minutes all at the same time.

So anyway i have realised through reading through my past ramblings what a huge support you all were to me last christmas and indeed in the 12 months since.

I hope i did everything in my power to make...

    Ovarian Carcinoid Cancer

So, I battled through the snow today (6 hour round trip) to get the results of my colonscopy. They showed no sign of carcinoid in the caecum. So I've got to go back and have the ocreotide scan again and then probably my ovary and appendix removed. Not quite what I was hoping for, but reading some of the other posts I guess I should be feeling happy.

    Merry Christmas Everyone x x x x

    I wish ...
At this time of year, there are lots of wishes flying around. Most of them are the usual seasonal messages – although perhaps this year there might be a few more wishes for improvements to snowy conditions and travel not being disrupted.

I have a few different things I’m wishing this year:

To those of you spending your first Christmas without a loved one (like me), I hope you can look back and remember the happy times. While never forgetting the bad times, may the new year bring...

    feeling guilty

    Hi All

Feeling a little guilt after my good news i was so happy and shared it with the world and his wife about my treatment finishing on christmas eve .

But after any high there is a low

Its now that i feel guilty because i know that there are people who are dreading this season ,people who will feel so alone in a room full of family and friends because a special someone isn't there ,for the ones who will wake up in an empty house with a empty heart ,for the ones who will be caring for a love...

    NHS cancer care

I cannot beleive although people have told  me how poor the care from NHS and cancer services can be and how much you have to fight for a bit of dignity.

Yesterday I had a 20 minutes non-conversation with a speicialist worker in a specialist cancer hospital with her telling me how many calls they had - I pointed out I wasn't interested in her workload but they had promise dsomeone would call round and this hadn't happened and wasn't going to according to her - but they hadn't bothered telling us...
