Hi i'm a 56 year old male and have had a neck resection done one year ago. My left lower, jaw was removed, and replaced with my fibula and a titanium plate. I attended my two month check up this week and was sent for an xray on a hard part of my throat just under where the jaw was cut and i have been told i now have ,bone growing downwards, from the joint in my jaw. Anyone with any exprience of this, advice would be much appreciated. Groggy

    Good Progress

It's been a while since I was last on here. Mum is doing really well with her chemo, had a few hiccups concerning the effects of her treatment. She now only has 8 weeks left but, mum has had to miss one week due to ill health brought on by her chemo. We've all been behind her, supporting her by listening to her and reassuring her that she is doing so well and it'll all soon be over. Mum told me that at the moment it is difficult for her to walk. Mum has got over that problem by getting a motability...

    Oh no, I'm back

I really love this place but generally it's difficult for me to talk about myself.

Everything is so difficult for me lately. I know, people expect us to smile and say everything is great. But what if it's not? This past month I've been coughing a lot!! The coughing during the day is tolerable and not so bad. But then as it gets to about 7-8 pm the coughing gets difficult. When this happens I practically glue myself to the sofa so that my back will have some support. However my neck and chest...

  • Thymoma anyone ?
    Round 2.2

Had my second octreotide jab recently. Side effects? What side effects! If a drug does not qualify you for a Kojak re-make audition then it really is not trying hard enough .... Reality check is that it was designed for ailments way worse than mine and I am just fortunate that it causes significant "collateral damage" to thymoma. Been some time since I was in treatment the first time, and it is humbling.
My thymoma is definately alive .... but I'm sure that it is being gently encouraged...
