I've recently just found out that my mam has Type B Lung Cancer and its inoperable. To be honest I'm devastated and worried about the outcome but my mam assures me that she is being well looked after by her macmillan nurse and is receiving treatment from the Royal Marsden Hospital in Surrey,
Problem is I live up North and shes down South and I feel totally useless at the moment with me being so far away. Any help, advice or support from anyone else affected by lung cancer be...

Well the day has finally come.
It feels like we have waited for months since his oncology appointment, but in reality its only been weeks. In them weeks we have yet again worn ourselves out with the worry and stress. Have not done it conciously either, but we know by this afternoon we could sleep for England and feeling totally drained.
He had a strange lump appear before Christmas last year which turned out to be nothing, so hoping for the same result this time. Dave said this one feels different...

Now had my MRI scan last Saturday, now awaiting to hear this Friday if I am required to see dr next Tuesday.
Went back to work yesterday, I work for a railway company so I do shift work, so I am on late turn this week, saw my manager who did my return to work, he had not got a clue, trying to make out I was not off with stress and that the gp certicates were not true, I let him have his 5 mins and then claming advised him that i need next Tuesday off as I have hospital appointment and when I explained...
Ok its a week now this is an assumption but i think I'm on the tablets not the placebo. Have had to get medication for my bp which is doing summersaults. but apart from a itchy ( very ) scalp I'm fine. watch this space. :)
well it's a few weeks since i had great news that i don't need to see anyone unless symptoms come back but i am now paranoid if anything is out of the normal. i was at he doc for my return to work line and was again told to mention anything if i think has changed. i've still had problems with either constipation or if i take drinks and tablets etc - forever going to the toilet! but now i've just had a couple of times that there appeara to be blood in my stools. do i go back to the doc so...
Found out this AM at my Addenbrokes appointment that the octreotide jabs I have been on for the last 3 months have been working as planned! Last few weeks have been a little scary as this was Plan B .... however apart from a little more localised pain my thymoma has taken the hint and is on it's way back to where it was end of last year. My fight is now a war of attrition - octreotide is more of a stealth weapon than chemo - but anything proposed by Addenbrookes and Papworth is Heaven-sent. They...
I am a firm believer of having smears, so on 25th January I had my smear done by my local nurse, thought nothing of it.
I was a little surpised how quick the results came back, but again nothing to worry about, but due to admornal smear was refered to hospital.
So on 21st March off I go to Frimley Park Hosptal to see them where a copoloposy was done, everything was explained before they did the examiation, and even when you lying there I could not fault the dr or nurses. Was told results will be...
