  • Madmadge's life without John
Does anyone else feel like this when they are bereaved?

As a lot of you know, I lost my Beloved John on 22nd August and I feel so lost without him.  I'm scared too because I don't know how I'm going to survive without seeing his face or hearing his voice except in my memory.  I long to feel his arms around me again and his gentle kisses.

I'm going to have to brace myself soon to look through his papers and sort out his estate which I'm dreading.  The darling man did leave a Will so it should be straight forward but it all seems so final...

  • When will I feel like me again????????
    So tired.......

Hi everyone.. wow how is it that anyone can feel so tired. I do not know who I am anyymore. Before being diagnosed I was unstoppable but now EVERYTHING is an effort and I yawn constantly which must be really annoying for the person I am talking to at times.  My question should be a simple one but I know it isnt really!! But can anyone throw me a lifeline and tell me WHEN WHEN I might feel like me again, WHEN I will stop feeling so tired and so exhuasted and WHEN I wont feel so alone at times.  I was...

    A poem for John
    Always Here

    Although I can’t see you,
    I know that you’re here.
    Your memory lives on
    In each silent tear.

    My heart holds you close,
    Remembers the love,
    As your bright shining star
    Looks down from above.

You’re free from all pain now,
    Just waiting for me,
    For when my time comes
It’s your face I will see.

    Smiling a welcome,
    With arms open wide.
    And once more, my Darling,
    We’ll walk side by side.

    Just,,,

Not been on here for a while. My  heads been a bit , ohh i dunno how to describe it. Since the start of this journey, after the initial shock had sunk in...i had felt very up beat and positive ... I know  the worst of it's behind me.. Nearing the end of treatment (Roll on November)  But  these last few weeks all I want to do is cry (I've not given into it cos I know I really have no reason to be this way)

Stupid dreams, about people I've not seen or thought about in years (some going back to...

  • The mysteries of Mo
    September 11th 2011 (pt2)

We had two nurses from the 'Hospice at home'service come to visit today.I wanted them to come because I was worried about Mo's personal hygiene.I'm not saying she was dirty lol I just wasn't too sure that when she had a wash in the morning if Mo was doing a proper job.If you knew Mo before, you would of known she was very particular about her cleanliness, her hair & what she wore during the day.The nurses spoke to me when they got here as mo was resting to get the lowdown but they did have her referral...

Ten minutes later got back up again and did the same, only this time on the way back went to the toilet & then back into the front room eventually she got back into bed at 4am.It was like a game of musical chairs, only without the music!

  • Working?
    overwhelmed?

A nice start to the day with a nice long bath, of course tucking the tubes up out of the way so they don't get wet, followed by only having to shout 4 times to get my 13 yr old out of the house so we could get to my mums for lunch, time being the essence today as they were off to Devon at about 4.

"you look pale and fraught" said my mum, more than once. I wasn't feeling fraught. But it got me thinking.

And I think all the help is getting to me! How odd does that sound? And...

    I'm new to this...

    Hi :)

I've never blogged before - for any reason, so bear with me!

I joined this community because my amazing mum passed away on the 15th of August this year following a year long fight with cancer. She was initially diagnosed with bowel cancer, but it spread to her liver and became untreatable due to its position on her hepatic vein.

She never once let the cancer rule her life - she went through nearly 6 months of chemo before the doctors said there was no more they could do, and then lived...

    Hoping

I carried on as normal today. I went out with friends and did what I had to do.

I don't have a diagnosis. I don't know what is wrong. All I have been told is my symptoms could possibly indicate cancer. Do they realise just what they are saying when they use that word? They could also be a number of other conditions that are less 'serious' but my mind does not dare hope for fear of having them dashed.

I want to run away. I want to hide but know that I can't. I have another week to...

    HI

its been a while since I last blogged, but its been one hell of at few months.

My wonderful mom passed away on the 30th July 2011, she was such a wonderfull brave women, I still can't believe it.

She had been unwell since may really but in the end she went so quickly.  But she had made it perfectly clear to us all that she had enough, she was so sick of the pain and I think the thought of her not been able to come home because of how poorly she became was the last straw for her which makes...
