1 minute read time.

Got a phone call from my sister to say come straight away because Mam was getting distressed. Nurses came and said she wasn't distressed and didn't want to give her any drugs. My other sister's said that we had been there all the time and that she needed something to help her settle because she was stressed. One of the nurses then decided to give her something, the other (older) nurse was not happy with this but they discussed it and agreed she needed something. One of my sister's got really angry that they were more interested in try to get a doctor than give my mam something. We had all the drugs in place for this eventuality so why could they not just help her.

When the older one came back later in the day she told us that she hadn't expected to come back to see Mam. Everyone thought it was her last day. It was heartbreaking seeing her like that, but she must have a reason to be still hanging on, but I guess only she knows what it is.

Dad has gone really quiet and is sleeping more than usual. We are hoping that she is waiting for him and that they will both go together. It's hard to imagine them both not being here, but looking at the way they both are I think it's the best thing for both of them. They have both aged so much these past few months, I hardly recognize them as my Mam and Dad.
