I was diagnosed in December of 2011 with a tumour in my bowel. My symptoms leading up to it and diagnosis (or misdiagnosis) could be classed as 'interesting'.

Hi everyone
Is there anyone suffering from or had a wound that will not heal. The wound where my lymph nodes were removed from, has 95% healed, but a small section, the size of my baby nail refuses to heal. No infection, have had a seroma there, which has been drained many times, but not for the last 4 weeks. The wound was building up granules, but by using silver nitrate, this has stpped.
I am now 14 weeks after surgery and beginning to panic, I can't have chemo because of my heart, and radiotherapy...
3.52 AM and I have actaully been awake since 2.37AM, tossing and turning trying to sleep catch. I fell asleep at about 11:30 so at least I have had 3 hours - contributing factors tonight are:
Really heavy cold for last 2 days - sneezing, runny nose - what a turn around I have had a blocked nose for months hence my naso-pharangeal cancer.
My son has not yet come home (not normally a worry) but he is supposed to be working tomorrow and he lost his last job through not turning up at weekends - cannot...
My local vinyl record store finally closed down this week. I am not at all surprised. The lease was up for renewal, and these days it is more profitable to deal in vinyl on the internet. Hubby has explosive bowel movements and a bleeding penis. Scared. Not seen any posts that seem similar.

So if anybody is looking, Husband was diagnosed with bowel in January this year. He has done 4 cycles of capec and oxy. Quickly followed by 5 weeks of radiotherapy combined with the capec. (no time off for good behaviour).
Against the odds he has continued to work full time. Mobile service technician type job. Not always convenient.
He met an elite band of folk during his visits to Addenbrookes. Hats off to all who attended. The overlaps between appointments and diagnoses meant some left before...
Dad was moved from hospital, into a hospice as he requires a lot of care that my mum would not be able to cope with providing on her own.
Sadly dad spent the majority of the last 6 months of his life in hospital, and we were unable to get dad home for the end of his life. However we did get him into a hospice, so he did receive very good care.

Having had a chance to read my dad's letters from the hospitals, all the answers to the questions are there, just that my parents didn't understand the technical jargon and never asked the consultant to explain them. They expected the consultant to tell them verbally all what they needed to understand.

Hi everyone sorry i have'nt been on for a while, I was feeling sorry for myself and had to get stuff sorted out.
