    Friday, at last
Just waiting for final RT of week having been to see my doc in warminster this morning. Wait its me they are after - mega quick, I've only just sat down! So in an out in under 20mins! Shame the drive home took twice as long dur to salisbury traffic! So with two thirds of treatment done, everything seems on track. I have a batch of six sessions next week, a day off and then a two day session b4 christmas and boxing day off. Then the final 2 sessions of RT finishing on Sat 28th Dec. I know I will still...

Really fed up of this Cancer c**p now.
Cancer not only messes you up inside but it messes up your mind too. I have not slept in 6 days even though I have taken sleeping tablets and along with my other medication its enough to put an elephant to sleep. Great I'm not normal always said I was different. Wonder if I'm from another planet lol well things don't add up when three places you have lived in get knocked down??????????? ;-) I can't wait for 2013 to end. The last 4 yrs have been total hell for me. 16th February 2009 I had a...

Journey Proves to be a Grind...
todays 55 minute trip to southampton was the worst yet. Despite double morphine an hour before setting off it still hurts to sip water, and the car journey made me feel sick and tired, that's before I had any treatment! I wasn't very talkative at all which made the journey seem to last twice as long. Got in for treatment really quickly, but feeling sick all the way through it (not normal) treatment seemed to last twice as long as normal! Given a sick bowl for car journey back, just in case! Just...

  • I need to get it out
17/30 Now his eyes are stinging, and nose bleeding. What next?

What is next indeed. Eyes stinging, nose bleeding and we are told it will get worse and then the oncologist breaks into his fixed smile.!!!!!

I bought the eye drops the oncologist suggested but of course they make no difference. I don't think he knows as it is so rare a place to rt. I wonder if he has ever done it before.

Back and forwards to the Drs and chemist and back again to get prescriptions filled and even now I have to take one item back again and the eye drops are useless. The chemist...

Pain Free - Is it a Myth?
Just settling down for the night and having doubled morphine dose am hoping for a better sleep. Whilst most of body numb, relaxed and tranquil, whenever I swallow I am in pain. What's the solution? If I close my mouth I don't swallow as much but mouth tastes of 'clagg' and mucus builds up in throat. If I open my mouth I need to drink sips of water as mouth gets dry almost immediately equals more swallowing. I could up the dose of morphine even more but then I would be totally out of it and not even...

    9 months on....Christmas....

December is turning out to be a very difficult month, no tree up, no shopping done and today is the 11th! Oh I know I have time but I don't have the inclination, that's the problem.

I actually forget on a daily basis that it is nearly Christmas, most days I wake up and struggle to remember what day it is! This is something that no one tells you.. your memory goes when you are grieving, some say it returns yet others report it doesn't...only time will tell.

I am going through the 'firsts...

    Feeding By Tube...
As I sit waiting for next round of Zapps and reflecting on what a horrible last 24 hours I have endured half of me thinks how will I get through another 4-5 weeks? Fortunately the stronger half of my psyche reminds me that I am now 4 and a half weeks into treatment and infact almost 9 weeks into the whole cancer-ridding experience from my initial operation back in early Oct. Seen nurse who have told me to double dose of morphine and that this can be taken down tube rather than by burning mouth. Also...
