essential thrombothycemia/essential thrombocytosis

Less than one minute read time.

I am 25 and have recently been diagnosed with ET. Hematologist was very supportive, and reasured me that I did not have much if anything to wory about (and at the moment only have to go and see him every 6 months)
Trying to understand my diagnosis, and whether it is a primary cause of my sometimes very sleepy day, aches and pains.
Any information - or just to talk would be appreciated.

Chelle :)

Hi Chelle, Sorry to see you joining the club no-one wants to be a member of.
May be able to give you a couple of pointers to give you some info and get you in the best area for help.

There is a Macmillan info page on ET and MPD's if you click the green text it will open in a new window / tab.  Must admit to not being medical trained but is ET a type of Leukaemia or Myeloid ?
Reason for asking is that if you click the groups button at the top of the page there are groups for both that if appropriate you can join to get help and info from those specific members. Just type the names into the text box.

Hope this helps a bit for now until you can find your feet here and settle in.

Take care,  George & Jackie (breast forum)

  • WOW you posted 8 years ago I wonder if you still follow this thread.  You starting this chat i exactly at the same stage I am. The only differences I am older, 48 this year. Which means I am near the age group when ET is 'usually' diagnosed.  If you are still on here I would love to chat with someone that has gone through and still going through the same experience as myself.
